About Shield Capital & Investments:
Shield Capital & Investments is a fast-growing wealth and investment advisory firm building toward ₹50 Cr AUM by year-end. We work with HNI and retail clients across direct equity, derivatives, mutual funds, and advisory products. We are now scaling our direct equity vertical and are looking for a senior professional to own this segment end-to-end.
The Role description:
You will take complete ownership of Shield’s direct equity desk — managing client portfolios, executing trades across multiple accounts, driving brokerage generation, and reactivating dormant relationships.
This is a high-accountability role with clear monthly revenue targets and meaningful upside through variable compensation.
You will work closely with our research lead on idea flow and our RM on client coordination, but the desk and its numbers are yours. The role offers a clear path toward becoming the fund manager of Shield’s PMS vertical as the firm scales.
Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Management & Execution
- Build, manage, and rebalance direct equity portfolios for clients across short-term trading, swing, and long-term investment mandates.
- Execute trades efficiently across multiple client accounts using our existing multi-account dealing software.
- Maintain disciplined position sizing, stop-loss adherence, and portfolio-level risk management.
- Document strategy logic and maintain audit trails for every client mandate.
Brokerage Generation & Revenue Ownership
- Own the monthly brokerage target for the direct equity vertical.
- Identify opportunities for active churning within appropriate risk and suitability frameworks.
- Drive product mix toward higher-yield segments (F&O strategies, intraday, swing trades) where suitable for the client’s profile.
- Track desk P&L daily and report weekly to leadership.
Dormant Client Activation
- Systematically work through Shield’s existing client base to reactivate dormant accounts through personalized outreach, portfolio reviews, and tailored trade ideas.
- Convert passive holdings into active managed relationships where the client’s profile fits.
Client Engagement
- Conduct portfolio reviews with HNI and active clients.
- Communicate trade rationale, market views, and performance updates with clarity and conviction.
- Handle escalations and complex client queries on the equity book.
Team & Process
- Coordinate daily with Varinder on idea flow and conviction levels.
- Work with Nikita on client onboarding, KYC, and operational workflows.
- Over time, hire and lead additional dealers and analysts as the desk scales toward our PMS ambitions.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in equity dealing, portfolio management, or wealth advisory at a broking firm, wealth management firm, or boutique PMS.
- Demonstrated track record of managing multi-client equity books and generating brokerage or AUM-linked revenue.
- Strong fundamentals in technical analysis, options strategies, and basic equity research.
- Comfort with multi-account execution platforms and broking back-office systems.
- NISM Series VIII (Equity Derivatives) mandatory; Series XV (Research Analyst) and NCFM certifications strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and client-facing presence — this person will speak with HNI clients regularly.
- High ownership mindset and comfort with target-driven roles.
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 DaysMonth 1:
Full handover of existing portfolios, deep understanding of the client base, immediate execution support to hit current brokerage targets, and reactivation outreach to top dormant accounts.
Month 2:
Established daily desk rhythm, structured client segmentation, and first measurable lift in active client count and brokerage run-rate.
Month 3:
Stable monthly brokerage run-rate, documented strategy frameworks per client segment, and a clear roadmap for desk scaling.
Compensation
Competitive fixed salary plus aggressive performance-linked variable tied to desk brokerage and AUM growth. The variable component is uncapped. Equity participation will be considered for the right candidate as Shield scales toward PMS licensing.
