About the role
The Manager – Legal Counsel will support the global trademarks legal function through management and coordination of trademark-related legal activities across the brand lifecycle. The role will work closely with internal trademark attorneys, marketing teams, regulatory stakeholders, innovation teams, and external counsel to support trademark clearance, filing, prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement coordination, and legal risk assessment activities across multiple jurisdictions.
This role is intended for an experienced trademark legal professional or legally qualified paralegal with strong exposure to global trademark practice within multinational organizations, law firms, or shared services/GCC environments. The individual is expected to combine legal acumen, operational discipline, strong stakeholder management, and attention to detail while supporting a fast-paced global consumer healthcare business environment.

Support global trademark portfolio activities including trademark clearance, filing coordination, prosecution tracking, renewals coordination, and portfolio maintenance.

Conduct and coordinate preliminary trademark searches, screening reviews, and trademark availability assessments in collaboration with internal and external counsel.

Review, analyze, and summarize trademark search reports and identify potential legal or commercial risks for attorney escalation.

Coordinate trademark filings, office action responses, oppositions, cancellations, coexistence matters, and related prosecution activities with external counsel globally.

Support drafting, review, and management of trademark-related legal documentation, including assignments, coexistence agreements, consent letters, powers of attorney, declarations, and related filings.

Maintain accurate trademark portfolio records with thorough docketing and ensure appropriate documentation and legal correspondence management.

Liaise closely with internal teams (such as marketing, regulatory, business, etc.) regarding brand name reviews, launch timelines, trademark risks, and filing strategies.

Support trademark enforcement and brand protection activities, including coordination of watch notices, infringement escalations, counterfeit matters, online enforcement support, and cease-and-desist coordination.

Monitor trademark deadlines, prosecution developments, and portfolio status updates across jurisdictions.

Coordinate with external counsel on trademark strategy implementation, legal updates, filings, and prosecution activities.

Assist with trademark due diligence support for acquisitions, divestitures, licensing, collaborations, and corporate transactions as required.

Support development and maintenance of trademark legal templates, guidance notes, SOPs, playbooks, and internal knowledge resources.

Prepare trademark portfolio reports, status summaries, dashboards, and legal updates for internal stakeholders and leadership teams.

Partner with global legal and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between trademark protection strategies and commercial objectives.
Why you?
Basic Qualification:

Bachelor of Law (LL.B) or equivalent legal qualification.

Additional certification or specialization in Intellectual Property Law or Trademark Practice would be advantageous.

8+ years of relevant experience in trademark legal support, trademark prosecution, trademark portfolio management, or IP legal/paralegal functions.

Strong experience supporting global trademark portfolios within multinational corporations, law firms, consumer healthcare/FMCG organizations, or IP-focused legal teams.

Experience coordinating trademark filings, oppositions, prosecution matters, enforcement support, and portfolio maintenance activities across multiple jurisdictions.

Familiarity with trademark search analysis, risk assessments, and legal documentation support.

Prior experience working in shared services/GCC environments supporting global legal teams would be advantageous.

Experience supporting highly regulated or brand-driven industries such as consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, retail, or technology preferred
Preferred Qualification:

Strong understanding of global trademark prosecution and portfolio management processes.

Familiarity with trademark lifecycle management, clearance processes, enforcement coordination, and legal documentation management.

Experience working with trademark docketing or IP management systems such as Anaqua, or equivalent tools.

Ability to review and interpret trademark search reports and identify legal risk considerations for escalation.

Familiarity with trademark filings and prosecution processes across major jurisdictions including the US, Europe, APAC, and emerging markets.

Strong legal documentation and contract review capabilities related to trademark matters.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Experience with reporting, portfolio tracking, and legal records management preferred.
