Overview

Power Grid Division is involved in electricity utilities sector in the UK & I, Canada, US, ME and APAC. We provide value-added engineering services and build solutions across the entire spectrum of electricity networks, from high voltage power transmission grids to low voltage industrial power distribution. We have designed HV Substations up to 400kV and Electrical infrastructure for large industrial/ Multi Use developments and Heavy industries. The team provides services to clients across the globe; however, the major clients are in UK and Middle East.

The Power T&D team is looking for experienced Principal engineers in HV Plant Discipline, as we are looking to grow the team in line with business requirements. We are looking for experienced engineers for middle level role in 'Civils & Structures' design for transmission and distribution projects as we look to grow the team in line with business requirements. So, if you are interested in working for an internationally renowned consultancy and working on some of the challenging projects across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) come and join us at AtkinsRéalis.

Using your experience and knowledge, you will be leading the delivery of a variety of projects drawing upon the wider team for the technical engineering requirements and building a strong relationship with our clients. You will be client-facing, responsible for the delivery of our work and making sure it meets our client's'expectations.

This role will be based at our AtkinsRéalis office in Bangalore, Mumbai, Gurgaon in India

Your role

Broad knowledge of Civil Engineering components of Power, Transmission & Distribution Project.
Sound understanding of technical principles underlying civil engineering, particularly civil engineering structures, foundation and equipment foundations related to Power Business – Including Generation and Power Networks
Awareness of current international design codes and standards, especially BS and Euro codes.
Preparation of design basis reports and perform structural design calculations based on same.
Experience of working with STAAD or any similar analysis/ design package.
Capable of reviewing General arrangement drawing, RC detailed drawings, Bar Bending schedule etc.
Experience in design of both RC and steel structures. Must have worked on Pile foundations
Experience in design of connections.
Experience in preparing calculations in Excel spreadsheets.
Calculation using Mathcad will be an added advantage.
Must be able to demonstrate review of works carried out by Junior team members.
Strong conceptualization ability, strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills are a must, including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.
Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel, and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented environment.
Contribute to maintaining existing and developing new client relationships.
Flexibility to travel to client sites/offices when required.
Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.

About you

Bachelor'S or master's degree in civil/Structural Engineering with minimum 7 years of relevant industrial experience.
Thorough knowledge Civil engineering fundamentals and concepts for Transmission, distribution and generation segments.
Understand engineering concepts and capable of interfacing with different departments.
Capability to produce good quality drawings, design calculations, technical reports and specifications.

Must have working knowledge on BIM environment.
Experience in use of one or all the STAAD Pro, ETABS, Autodesk ROBOT or any other similar design package software tools will be an added advantage.
