About the Company

We are an early-stage technology startup building fun, fast, and accessible products experiences across mobile apps, mobile web, and WAP. Our products reach players across tier-1, tier-2, and tier-3 markets - including audiences on low-end devices and limited bandwidth. We move fast, ship often, and design with our players in mind.

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile Product Designer who can own design end-to-end from understanding the player and crafting smooth user flows, to designing pixel-perfect interfaces, to creating the marketing visuals that bring our games to life. You will be our first/early design hire, working directly with founders, product, and engineering to shape how our games look, feel, and play. This is a high-ownership role for someone who loves both the problem-solving side of UX and the craft of visual design.

Key Responsibilities

UX & Product Design

Own the end-to-end design process - user research, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI for features across mobile app, mobile web, and WAP.
Design intuitive player journeys: onboarding, gameplay loops, progression, monetization, and retention surfaces.
Translate product requirements and player insights into clear user flows and interaction patterns.
Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library across platforms.
Run lightweight user research and usability tests; iterate based on player feedback and A/B test results.
Optimize designs for low-end Android devices, low-bandwidth networks, and WAP browsers without losing visual quality.

Visual & Graphic Design

Design polished in-app visuals: icons, illustrations, banners, characters, and game art assets.
Create marketing creatives - app store screenshots, feature graphics, social media posts, performance ads, and in-app event artwork.
Maintain and evolve the brand identity across product, marketing, and partner-facing surfaces.
Create animations, motion graphics, and micro-interactions (Lottie, GIFs, short videos) to enhance engagement and delight.

Collaboration & Delivery

Partner closely with product managers and engineers from concept to shipping; prepare specs, redlines, and clean asset handoffs.
Work with marketing and growth teams on campaign creatives, ASO assets, and ad creative iterations.
Present design work to founders and the broader team; gather and incorporate feedback constructively.
Stay updated on visual and UX trends in mobile gaming, casual gaming, and emerging-market product design.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or hybrid UI + Visual Designer working on apps.
Strong portfolio showing both UX thinking (flows, wireframes, problem framing) and visual craft (UI, marketing creatives, illustrations or icons).
Proficiency in Figma (primary), plus Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
Solid understanding of mobile design principles, iOS/Android platform guidelines, screen densities, and responsive design.
Experience designing assets optimized for performance - file size, formats (PNG, WebP, SVG), and rendering on low-end devices.
Strong fundamentals in typography, color, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.
Ability to think through user problems, not just style screens - comfortable defending design decisions with rationale.
Comfortable shipping fast in short iteration cycles, balancing craft with speed.
Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in gaming, casual games, or interactive entertainment products.
Experience designing for mobile web and WAP - lightweight assets, fallback designs, and graceful degradation.
Experience designing for emerging markets (tier-2 / tier-3 India, SEA, MENA, Africa).
Familiarity with prototyping and animation tools (Principle, ProtoPie, Rive, Lottie workflows).
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how designs translate to code.
Exposure to running A/B tests on UI/UX changes and analyzing the results.
Skills in illustration, character design, or basic 3D.
Diploma or degree in Design, HCI, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
