Sales Engineer (Hi-Purity Water Systems)

Location: Navi Mumbai | Full-Time | Field & Office Based Experience: 3-5 Years | Industry: Pharma / Biotech / Hi-Purity Water Systems

Job Summary

The Sales & Business Development Engineer will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and driving revenue growth specifically for Aquamech's Hi-Purity Water & UPW Systems. This is a technically grounded sales role focused entirely on the pharmaceutical, biotech, and semiconductor sectors. The ideal candidate understands Hi-Purity system requirements well enough to engage credibly with plant managers, project engineers, QA heads, and procurement teams at pharma and biotech facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities for Hi-Purity Water & UPW Systems within pharmaceutical, biotech, and semiconductor industries
Generate leads through field visits, pharma industry events, referrals, and direct outreach to plant engineering and project teams
Conduct client meetings to understand project and validation requirements and present Aquamech's Hi-Purity system capabilities
Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals in coordination with the proposals team, ensuring alignment with cGMP and regulatory requirements
Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with plant heads, project engineers, QA managers, and procurement teams at pharma and biotech companies
Follow up on enquiries, proposals, and negotiations to drive order closures
Track new pharma plant projects, expansions, and upgrades as business development opportunities
Maintain a structured sales pipeline and provide regular updates on leads, opportunities, and order forecasts to management
Coordinate with the project and engineering teams post-order to ensure smooth client onboarding and handover
Represent Aquamech at pharma industry exhibitions, seminars, and regulatory events

Qualifications & Skills

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, or Pharmaceutical Engineering
2–5 years of experience in B2B technical sales or business development specifically in Hi-Purity Water systems, pharma utilities, or related pharma equipment
Good working knowledge of Hi-Purity Water systems PW, WFI, HPW, RO EDI, UPW, and distribution systems
Familiarity with ASME BPE, cGMP, and USFDA requirements as they relate to pharma water systems
Strong client-facing, communication, and negotiation skills
Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage a pharma-focused sales territory
Existing network within pharmaceutical, biotech, or semiconductor manufacturing facilities is a strong advantage
Willingness to travel for client visits and site meetings across India
Proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with CRM tools is an advantage
