Company Overview: TechUp Labs is looking for a Business Development Executive who is driven, proactive, and passionate about building business opportunities and creating meaningful client relationships. We are looking for someone with prior experience in the service industry who understands client acquisition, lead generation, relationship management, and the complete business development cycle. The ideal candidate should be comfortable identifying prospects, initiating conversations, understanding business requirements, and converting opportunities into clients.
About the Job: As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating qualified leads, building client relationships, and contributing to revenue growth for TechUp Labs. You will work closely with the leadership, marketing, product, and technical teams to understand our offerings and communicate their value effectively to prospective clients. This role is highly execution-focused and is best suited for someone who enjoys prospecting, talking to customers, understanding their challenges, pitching solutions, following up consistently, and closing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and generate new business opportunities through outbound and inbound channels.
- Research and identify potential clients across relevant industries and market segments.
- Conduct prospecting through LinkedIn, cold calling, cold emailing, databases, directories, referrals, communities, and other relevant channels.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Understand client requirements, business challenges, and technology needs.
- Schedule and conduct introductory calls, product discussions, and client meetings.
- Follow up with prospects consistently and move opportunities through different stages of the sales funnel.
- Coordinate with technical and product teams to understand feasibility, requirements, and proposed solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, follow-ups, and opportunities in CRM or other tracking systems.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with prospects and clients.
- Identify upselling, cross-selling, referral, and partnership opportunities.
- Monitor competitors, market trends, and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities.
- Continuously experiment with new lead-generation and outreach strategies.
- Document successful outreach approaches, sales learnings, objection-handling techniques, and repeatable business development processes.
- Work closely with the leadership team to achieve monthly and quarterly business development targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Business Development, Sales, Client Acquisition, or a similar role in the service industry.
- Strong understanding of the business development and sales cycle.
- Experience with lead generation, prospecting, cold outreach, and client follow-ups.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand client requirements and identify suitable solutions.
- Ability to confidently communicate with decision-makers and business stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and objection-handling skills.
- Good written and verbal English communication.
- Comfortable working with CRM tools, LinkedIn, email, and lead-generation platforms.
- Strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage multiple prospects simultaneously.
- Target-oriented and comfortable working with measurable business development goals.
- Strong ownership and execution mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.
- Good research and problem-solving skills.
- Self-learner mindset with the ability to understand new products, technologies, and industries quickly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in IT services, software services, digital services, consulting, or technology-enabled services.
- Experience working with international clients or B2B customers.
- Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with lead-generation and outreach tools such as Apollo, Clay, Instantly, Smartlead, or similar platforms.
- Experience with cold email and LinkedIn outreach campaigns.
- Basic understanding of SaaS, AI, automation, software development, or data-driven products.
- Experience preparing proposals, pitch decks, or business presentations.
- Ability to use AI tools for prospect research, personalization, sales research, and workflow automation.
