Job Description: Regional Business Manager (RBM) – OrthopedicsPosition Title: Regional Business Manager (RBM) – Orthopedic Division
Department: Sales & Business Development
Reports To: Zonal Sales Manager / National Sales Director
Location: Regional Headquarter (Extensive regional travel required)
Employment Type: Full-Time, PermanentJob PurposeThe Regional Business Manager (RBM) drives commercial growth, market share expansion, and territory development for our comprehensive orthopedic portfolio (including implants, trauma systems, and surgical instrumentation). This role is a strategic, second-line management position responsible for leading a high-performing field force, cultivating strong relationships with top-tier orthopedic surgeons and key opinion leaders (KOLs), and optimizing distributor networks across the assigned region.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Sales & Revenue Generation

Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual regional sales targets for primary, secondary, and instrument portfolios.
Design and execute localized, territory-specific business plans aligned with national marketing directives.
Identify and capitalize on untapped market opportunities in corporate hospitals, trauma centers, and government institutions.
Monitor financial health across the territory by enforcing strict credit frameworks, ensuring timely payment recovery, and maintaining zero outstanding defaults.

2. KOL Engagement & Clinical Support

Build and sustain strategic partnerships with prominent Orthopedic Surgeons, Head of Departments (HODs), and hospital procurement boards.
Organize and lead clinical workshops, CMEs (Continuing Medical Education), product demonstrations, and cadaver labs.
Provide high-level technical positioning and administrative insights to ensure our systems are preferred in the Operating Theater (OT) environment.

3. Team Leadership & Talent Management

Manage, mentor, and track the productivity of Area Business Managers (ABMs) and Territory Managers (TMs).
Conduct regular in-field assessments and co-travel to evaluate team competencies in product knowledge and clinical messaging.
Actively minimize territory vacancies by implementing robust retention strategies and building a pipeline of qualified talent.

4. Distribution & Supply Chain Optimization

Appoint, evaluate, and manage regional stockists and distributor networks to ensure flawless supply chain fluidity.
Coordinate closely with logistics teams to balance stock levels, maintaining optimum primary and secondary inventory while minimizing product expirations.
Monitor competitor pricing models, market shifts, and product adoptions, reporting real-time field intelligence back to corporate headquarters.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Bio-Medical Engineering, or a related discipline is mandatory. An MBA in Marketing or Sales Management is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 6–8 years of proven track record in medical device or pharmaceutical sales, with at least 3 years explicitly in a leadership/people management role within Orthopedic Implants, Trauma, Spine, or Joint Reconstruction, Re-generative Medicine, Pain Management.
Clinical Competence: Sound foundational understanding of human anatomy, orthopedic surgical procedures, and operating theater protocols.

Key Skills & Core Competencies

Strategic Territory Management: Demonstrated capability in data-driven planning and converting complex accounts.
Commercial Acumen: Exceptional negotiation capabilities combined with accurate quarterly forecasting and P&L monitoring skills.
Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to inspire remote teams and collaborate seamlessly across cross-functional internal departments.
Tools: Highly proficient in utilizing CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), automated field reporting systems, and Microsoft Office.
