Product Manager / Product Owner – E-Invoicing

Location: India (REMOTE)
Job Type: Full-time (Starts with 6 months probabtion)
Experience: 5+ years

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager / Product Owner – E-Invoicing to drive e-invoicing, GST and tax technology initiatives. The role will work closely with Tax, Finance, IT, Engineering and external technology partners to assess regulatory requirements, define system requirements, drive implementation and ensure compliance.

The ideal candidate should have strong CA qualification, GST/Indirect Tax expertise and hands-on experience in e-invoicing implementation projects, preferably involving ERP, tax technology or digital compliance platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Assess the business and system impact of e-invoicing and GST regulatory changes.
Map regulatory requirements into business and technology use cases.
Lead/coordinate e-invoicing implementation and transformation projects.
Analyse existing ERP and finance systems to identify functional and technical gaps.
Define business requirements, tax logic, compliance rules and system changes.
Work closely with Product, IT and Engineering teams to translate tax requirements into system solutions.
Coordinate with technology vendors, implementation partners and internal stakeholders.
Support ERP/tax technology integrations, including e-invoicing and digital tax compliance solutions.
Participate in UAT, testing, validation, issue resolution and go-live activities.
Ensure accuracy of tax calculations, invoices, tax reports and compliance outputs.
Support GST compliance, reconciliation, audit and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities for tax automation, process improvement and digital transformation.
Work with Finance, Tax and business teams to ensure successful adoption of new tax technology solutions.
Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into product/system requirements.

Mandatory Requirements

Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
8+ years of relevant experience in GST / Indirect Taxation / Tax Technology / Tax Transformation.
Strong hands-on experience with Indian GST and e-invoicing.
Proven experience in e-invoicing implementation/project execution.
Experience in tax compliance, reconciliation and audit.
Experience working with IT/Product/Engineering teams on tax or finance technology initiatives.
Strong understanding of business requirements, tax rules and system processes.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems.
Experience with ASP/GSP, APIs or e-invoicing integration platforms.
Experience with tax technology/digital compliance platforms.
Experience in UAT, functional testing, system validation and go-live.
Exposure to European e-invoicing mandates or multi-country e-invoicing rollouts.
Experience in tax transformation, automation or finance technology projects.
Experience working across Tax, Finance, IT and Product teams.

Good to Have

Experience in tax automation and digital compliance.
Data analytics / reporting experience.
Process re-engineering and large-scale transformation experience.
Experience contributing to product development or tax-tech innovation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a CA with strong GST/Indirect Tax knowledge who has moved beyond traditional tax compliance into e-invoicing implementation, tax technology and system transformation.

Candidates with titles such as Indirect Tax Manager, Tax Technology Manager, GST Consultant, Tax Transformation Manager, E-Invoicing Specialist, Tax Product Manager, Tax Technology Consultant or Product Owner are encouraged to apply.

Pay: ₹3,000,000.00 - ₹5,000,000.00 per year
