About the Role
Spectrum Supplychain Solutions Pvt Ltd is seeking a motivated and self-driven Sales Executive to expand our freight forwarding business across assigned territories. The candidate will work from home and make regular field visits to prospects in nearby towns, representing Spectrum's end-to-end logistics and freight forwarding services. This is a high-accountability, performance-driven role with strong earning potential through commissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect potential clients such as manufacturers, exporters, importers, traders, and SMEs in the assigned territory.
- Make regular field visits to nearby towns to meet prospects, conduct presentations, and build lasting business relationships.
- Pitch Spectrum's freight forwarding services including air freight, sea freight, customs clearance, LCL/FCL shipments, and door-to-door logistics.
- Advise clients on suitable Incoterms (EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, DDP, etc.) and explain cost, risk, and responsibility implications clearly.
- Guide clients through import/export procedures, documentation requirements, and customs formalities.
- Follow up on leads proactively and drive conversions through the complete sales cycle – from first contact to deal closure.
- Collect and report market intelligence including competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer feedback.
- Submit accurate daily activity reports covering visits made, leads generated, status updates, and next steps.
- Coordinate with internal operations teams to address client queries and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain an updated and organised database of prospects, clients, and pipeline status.
- Achieve monthly targets for lead generation and conversions as set by the reporting manager.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum: 12th Pass (HSC or equivalent).
- Preferred: Graduate in any discipline – Commerce, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Added Advantage: Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or International Trade.
Experience
- 1 to 3 years of field sales experience preferred.
- Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, courier, shipping, or EXIM trade is a strong plus.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills, relevant domain knowledge, and a strong willingness to learn will also be considered.
Domain Knowledge (Mandatory)
Incoterms 2020 (Mandatory):
- Thorough working knowledge of all Incoterms 2020 is mandatory: EXW, FCA, FAS, FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT, CIP, DAP, DPU, and DDP.
- Must clearly understand cost allocation, risk transfer points, and responsibilities of buyer and seller under each term.
- Must be able to advise clients on the most suitable Incoterm based on their trade requirements, mode of transport, and risk appetite.
- Must be capable of confidently explaining Incoterms during client discussions and negotiations.
Freight & Shipping Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of freight terminology: FCL, LCL, Break Bulk, NVOCC, co-loading, transshipment, and so on.
- Understanding of port procedures, shipping line operations, and freight rate structures (ocean and air).
- Familiarity with air freight processes, IATA regulations, and airline cargo handling.
Export / Import Documentation:
- Solid understanding of export/import documentation: Bill of Lading (B/L), Airway Bill (AWB), Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Shipping Bill, Bill of Entry, etc.
- Awareness of customs clearance procedures, HS code classification, and Customs Tariff structures.
- Knowledge of GST implications on freight and logistics services.
Trade Finance & Compliance (Added Advantage):
- Basic awareness of RBI/FEMA guidelines relating to import and export payments.
- Familiarity with trade finance instruments such as Letter of Credit (LC) and Bank Guarantee (BG).
- Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and preferential duty benefits is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in local language; basic working knowledge of English.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently without daily supervision.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation, and client relationship-building skills.
- Basic smartphone and internet proficiency for daily reporting (WhatsApp, Google Forms, CRM application, or similar tools).
- Well-organised with ability to maintain accurate records, report on time, and manage territory independently.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
- Ownership of a two-wheeler or personal vehicle is preferred for ease of field movement.

Fixed Salary
Assured fixed monthly salary – provides financial stability and baseline income.
Conveyance
Travel and conveyance expenses reimbursed at actuals upon submission of bills/claims.
Performance Commission
Attractive commission paid on every successful lead conversion – uncapped earning potential linked directly to performance.
Induction Training
Comprehensive 7-day induction training covering Spectrum's services, processes, sales methodology, and reporting systems before deployment.
Reporting & Accountability
- Submit daily activity reports by end of each working day, including visit log, lead status, follow-up actions planned, and client feedback.
- Participate in weekly review calls or video meetings with the reporting manager.
- Undergo monthly performance reviews based on lead generation numbers, conversion rates, and revenue contributed.
- Maintain full transparency on pipeline and client interactions through the company's reporting system.
Training & Onboarding
All selected candidates will undergo a structured 7-day induction training programme before commencing field duties. Training will cover:
- Overview of Spectrum Supplychain Solutions – services, processes, and client segments.
- In-depth refresher on Incoterms 2020 and their practical application in freight sales.
- Freight forwarding concepts, rate structures, and competitive positioning.
- Sales techniques, objection handling, and negotiation skills for logistics sales.
- Daily reporting process, CRM/reporting tool usage, and operational coordination protocols.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is locally well-connected and enjoys building relationships through face-to-face interactions. The ideal candidate is hungry to earn through performance, self-disciplined in reporting, and passionate about trade and logistics. Prior knowledge of local industries such as textiles, engineering goods, chemicals, agro commodities, or pharmaceuticals will be a significant advantage.
