Job Summary: The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structural components and systems. This role includes ensuring the safety, stability, and functionality of structures, while coordinating with project teams to meet deadlines and comply with relevant standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural design and a strong understanding of construction processes. Key Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Structural Design Analysis: ● Perform advanced structural analysis for a variety of construction projects, including commercial, residential for modular construction project. ● Evaluate structural integrity through the assessment of existing structures and recommend appropriate reinforcement or modifications if required. ● Design and analyze structural components including beams, columns, slabs, foundations, and other key elements. ● Perform calculations and simulations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards and regulations. ● Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications for construction. 2. Project Management and Coordination: ● Collaborate with architects, contractors, factory installation team and other stakeholders to ensure that structural designs meet project requirements and are executed effectively. ● Review and approve construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and change orders. ● Monitor construction progress and provide recommendations for resolving structural issues. 3. Consultation: ● Provide feasibility studies, site evaluations, and design recommendations. ● Offer technical advice on structural issues, including load analysis, material selection, and construction methods. ● Address client inquiries and resolve structural problems during all phases of the construction process. 4. Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: ● Ensure that all structural designs and construction practices comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
● Conduct factory & site inspections to verify compliance with structural designs and quality standards. ● Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of design calculations, inspection reports, and project changes. 5. Technical Reporting and Documentation: ● Prepare detailed technical reports, including structural analysis results, design justifications, and assessment findings. ● Document and communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to clients, factory and project teams. ● Develop and maintain accurate records of project files, including design documents, inspection reports, and correspondence. 6. Market Research and Development: ● Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering technology, materials, and construction techniques. ● Research and integrate best practices in structural design and construction processes. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. 2. Proven experience as a Structural Engineer or Structural Consultant, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. 3. Experience in both design and field inspection roles is highly desirable. 4. Deep knowledge of structural engineering principles, design methodologies, and construction practices. 5. Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD, RISA, SAFE) and AutoCAD or similar drafting tools. 6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing complex structural challenges. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with clients, team members, and stakeholders. 8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Certifications (preferred but not required): 1. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status. 2. Certification from relevant professional bodies (e.g., AICTE, IASTRUCTE, ICE) is a plus. 3. LEED Accreditation or other sustainability certifications are advantageous. Working Conditions: 1. Full-time position, in a fast-paced environment. 2. Ability to visit factory, construction sites, perform site inspections, and navigate various site conditions only when required. 3. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on design and analysis tasks. 4. May require occasional overtime. 5. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
