Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a ServiceNow Developer to join our ServiceNow Platform Team at our Hyderabad office. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Information Technology function. This position will report to the Manager of ServiceNow Development .
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and motivated ServiceNow Developer with hands‑on experience on platform development, who is enthusiastic about building, enhancing, and optimizing solutions across ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate shall have strong interest in continuously learning ServiceNow capabilities and applying best practices across ITSM processes.
The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for:
- Develop and configure ServiceNow solutions using best practices (e.g., client/server scripting, UI policies, business rules, flows, and data policies).
- Build and enhance ITSM flows and catalog items for Incident, Service Request, and Change processes.
- Implement and maintain Knowledge Management and related publishing/approval workflows.
- Configure and optimize SLA definitions , schedules, escalations, and breach handling.
- Design and implement REST API integrations (inbound/outbound), including authentication models (OAuth, basic, token-based) and error handling.
- Develop automation solutions using Orchestration capabilities (e.g., workflow/flow-based task execution) to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Configure and maintain CMDB classes, relationships, and data quality controls (normalization, reconciliation, lifecycle governance).
- Participate in ServiceNow Platform Upgrades (Clone/upgrade planning, regression testing, validations, remediation of customizations).
- Configure and enhance Service Operations Workspace to improve agent productivity and operational visibility.
- Contribute to Virtual Agent topic development, conversation flow, and integration with knowledge and ITSM processes.
- Build and maintain operational dashboards, reports, and KPIs using Dashboards and Platform Analytics .
- Work closely with process owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions .
- Provide production support, root cause analysis , defect fixes , and continuous enhancements .
- ServiceNow Portal development to create intuitive and user‑friendly experiences.
- Hands‑on experience with MID Server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Education/Experience:
- Any Graduation.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
- Service Side Scripting - experience in writing and maintaining (Business Rules (before, after, async), Script Includes (global and scoped, reusable APIs), Scheduled Jobs and Background Scripts (for data fixes and bulk updates).
- Client-Side Scripting – experience in writing and maintaining (Client Scripts (onload, onChange, onSubmit), UI Policies, UI Actions.
- Solid understanding of ServiceNow scripting APIs (GlideRecord, GlideSystem, GlideAjax, GlideAggregate, GlideDate, GlideDateTime, etc).
- Ability to design efficient, reusable, and maintainable scripts following ServiceNow best practices.
Good to have certifications such as CSA (Certified System Administrator) and CAD (Certified Application Developer)
