Social Media Executive – Detailed Job Roles & Responsibilities

A Social Media Executive is responsible for managing and growing a company’s presence across digital and social media platforms to increase brand awareness, engagement, leads, and sales.

Key Job Roles & Responsibilities1. Social Media Strategy & Planning

Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with business goals.
Create monthly and weekly content calendars.
Plan campaigns for brand awareness, promotions, events, and product launches.
Identify target audience behavior and trends.
Research competitors and industry trends.

2. Content Creation & Management

Create engaging content for:
Instagram
Facebook
LinkedIn
X (Twitter)
YouTube
Pinterest
Threads
Write captions, taglines, hashtags, and CTA copies.
Coordinate with graphic designers and video editors for creatives.
Ensure brand consistency in tone, style, and visuals.
Schedule and publish posts regularly.

3. Community Management

Respond to comments, messages, and customer queries.
Engage with followers and build online communities.
Monitor customer feedback and escalate issues when needed.
Maintain positive brand reputation online.

4. Campaign Management

Run organic and paid social media campaigns.
Coordinate influencer marketing campaigns.
Promote events, products, and offers through social platforms.
Track campaign performance and optimize accordingly.

5. Social Media Advertising

Manage paid ads on:
Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram)
LinkedIn Ads
Google Ads
YouTube Ads
Monitor ad budgets and ROI.
Perform audience targeting and retargeting.
Optimize campaigns for engagement, traffic, or conversions.

6. Analytics & Reporting

Track KPIs such as:
Reach
Engagement
Followers growth
Website traffic
Leads generated
Conversion rates
Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports.
Use analytics tools to measure campaign success.
Suggest improvements based on insights.

7. Trend Monitoring & Research

Stay updated with latest social media trends, reels, and viral content.
Research trending hashtags and topics.
Monitor competitor activities and benchmark performance.
Suggest innovative campaign ideas.

8. Coordination with Internal Teams

Work closely with:
Marketing team
Sales team
Design team
Content writers
Event team
Coordinate promotional activities across departments.
Ensure timely delivery of creatives and campaign materials.
