Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis to join our culinary team in Bangalore, India. As a Commis, you will be a vital part of our kitchen operations, working alongside experienced chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional food preparation and service. Prepare and organize your workstation before each shift, ensuring all tools, ingredients, and equipment are clean, organized, and ready for service

Assist senior chefs with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to established recipes and standards

Follow recipes and cooking instructions precisely, paying close attention to portion sizes, plating standards, and presentation requirements

Maintain exceptional food safety and hygiene standards at all times, adhering to all kitchen protocols and local health regulations

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stovetops, fryers, and other culinary tools

Support the kitchen team during service, responding quickly to requests and adapting to changing priorities in a high-pressure environment

Clean and sanitize your workstation, equipment, and kitchen areas throughout and after each shift

Collaborate effectively with colleagues, communicating clearly and supporting team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Monitor inventory and report any shortages or equipment issues to senior staff promptly

Contribute to a positive, inclusive kitchen culture by demonstrating enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn
Qualifications

Completed formal training in culinary arts, hospitality, or a related field from a recognized institution

Practical experience working in a professional kitchen environment (minimum 6 months preferred)

Current Food Safety and Hygiene certification or willingness to obtain one

Strong knowledge of basic knife skills and food preparation techniques

Familiarity with kitchen equipment, safety protocols, and sanitation standards

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely

Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks

Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
