Job Title: Senior Consultant – Finance & Accounts
Experience: 3–8 years
Job Location: Remote / Bangalore
Job Type: Part-Time (4–8 hours per week)
Working Schedule: Flexible, with availability for monthly finance reviews and occasional compliance or audit support

Job Highlights

Candidate must be based in Karnataka and have strong working knowledge of Karnataka State statutory laws, compliance requirements, and taxation procedures
Strong experience in accounting, financial control, and compliance functions required
High-trust role with direct access to bank accounts and Zoho Books
Suitable only for experienced professionals (not interns or entry-level candidates)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, trustworthy, and detail-oriented finance professional (Finance Controller & Compliance Manager) to independently manage and oversee accounting, bookkeeping, statutory compliance, vendor payments, and financial reporting functions.

The role includes managing transactions across multiple bank accounts and credit cards, centralizing invoices, maintaining Zoho Books, ensuring tax compliance, preparing management dashboards, and supporting auditors and tax consultants.

This position serves as the custodian of the company’s financial records and internal financial controls, working closely with management to ensure timely financial visibility and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts in Zoho Books.
Create and maintain vendor, customer, and payee records in Zoho Books and banking portals.
Process approved weekly vendor payments and maintain payment records and schedules.
Manage and reconcile company bank accounts and corporate credit cards.
Ensure all invoices, receipts, payment proofs, and supporting financial documents are properly recorded and maintained.
Maintain customer receivable records, monitor outstanding invoices, follow up on collections, and communicate payment updates and ETAs to vendors.
Calculate and record applicable TDS deductions and support payment of statutory dues, including GST, TDS, Professional Tax, Income Tax, and Advance Tax.
Coordinate with tax consultants and maintain statutory compliance documentation and supporting schedules.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including:
Profit & Loss Statement
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statement
Receivables and Aging Reports
Expense and Vendor Spend Reports
Maintain audit-ready financial records and support audit and compliance activities.
Establish and maintain sound financial controls, approval processes, and documentation practices.
Handle any other accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliation, compliance, and finance-related activities as required by the business.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CA Inter, CMA, CPA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
3–8 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or financial control roles.
Strong knowledge of Indian accounting practices, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience with Zoho Books and strong Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, analytical abilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Time Commitment

Approximately 4–8 hours per week.
Flexible working hours.
Availability for monthly finance reviews and occasional compliance or audit support when required.

Success Measures

Accurate and up-to-date books maintained in Zoho Books.
Timely processing of vendor payments and statutory compliances.
Complete and accurate bank and credit card reconciliations.
Timely publication of monthly financial reports and management dashboards.
Fully audit-ready financial records maintained throughout the year.
Timely identification and escalation of financial and compliance risks.
