The FinOps Director is an integral member of the extended team, embedded within our finance operations capability to drive seamless delivery across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and broader finance functions. This role operates as a true team member — sharing our values, culture, and commitment to excellence — while leading a talented finance team that works as one with our onshore colleagues. The FinOps Director champions collaboration across geographies, builds strong relationships with business stakeholders at all levels, and takes shared ownership of outcomes. This position is accountable for people development, team growth, service quality, and helping finance operations evolve as the business scales.
Finance operations (AP, AR, GL & broader finance activities):
- Oversees end-to-end delivery of AP, AR, and GL functions as a fully integrated member of finance team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to financial controls
- Manages invoice processing, vendor payments, cash application, collections, journal entries, reconciliations, and period-end close activities
- Drives process standardization and automation across finance towers to improve efficiency and reduce error rates
- Ensures month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes are completed within defined timelines and quality standards
- Maintains strong internal controls and audit readiness across all finance functions within scope
- Monitors KPIs and SLAs across all towers, identifying and resolving performance gaps proactively
- Engages with finance and business leads for ongoing delivery alignment, reporting into the CFO office to ensure strategic and operational priorities are met
- Manages additional finance activities in scope including expense management, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and reporting support
People management:
- Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing finance team that operates as one team regardless of geography
- Manages team structure, capacity planning, and resource allocation to meet operational and project demands
- Establishes clear performance expectations, conducts regular reviews, and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Identifies skills gaps and partners with HR to implement targeted development programs and succession planning
- Creates an inclusive, engaged environment where team members feel ownership of shared outcomes
- Oversees onboarding and integration of new team members to maintain continuity and embed ways of working
Service delivery & governance:
- Takes shared ownership of finance service delivery governance including SLA management, escalation handling, and quality assurance — operating as an embedded team member
- Defines and implements process improvement initiatives leveraging best practices, AI-driven tools, and technology
- Collaborates with IT and technology partners to support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations
- Prepares and presents operational performance reports, dashboards, and insights to the CFO office and senior leadership
- Ensures business continuity and risk mitigation plans are in place for all critical finance processes
Team growth & capability building:
- Develops and executes a workforce growth strategy to scale finance capabilities in line with business expansion
- Partners with Talent Acquisition to attract, hire, and onboard finance professionals who align with culture and values
- Builds role frameworks, competency models, and career pathways to retain and grow top talent
- Champions organizational development initiatives that increase team capability and adaptability
- Identifies opportunities to bring additional finance activities into the team’s scope, expanding value delivered.
Stakeholder connects:
- Builds trusted, peer-level relationships with finance and business leads — operating as an embedded team member with a shared stake in outcomes
- Maintains a regular connect cadence with the CFO office to report on delivery health, risks, and strategic opportunities
- Facilitates operational reviews, leadership updates, and cross-functional connects as part of the ongoing governance rhythm
- Proactively communicates risks, issues, and opportunities with recommended solutions — bringing a client-first mindset to every interaction
- Builds collaborative partnerships across Finance, Accounting, IT, HR, and Operations
- Represents the team in global transformation programs and cross-functional initiatives
Required qualifications, skills, and experience for success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- 12–15 years of progressive finance operations experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing distributed or multi-geography teams
- Demonstrated expertise managing AP, AR, GL, and period-end close processes at scale
- Proven track record of building, developing, and scaling high-performing finance teams
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance standards, and audit requirements
- Experience managing service delivery against SLAs and KPIs
- Proficiency with Sage Intacct and financial reporting tools; working knowledge of ERP integration and configuration
- Adept with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence and collaborate at senior levels
- Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and continuous improvement orientation
Preferred qualifications, skills, and experience:
- MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Business
- Experience with AI-driven finance tools and leading digital transformation programs that leverage AI for process efficiency
- Familiarity with ITIL service management principles applied to finance operations
- Experience working in a data center, technology, or infrastructure services industry
- Demonstrated experience inspiring and leading teams to deliver priorities aligned with broader business goals
