Senior Salesforce Engineer
Bangalore, India | Individual Contributor | Reports to Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Engineer to help design, enhance, and support scalable Salesforce solutions from sales workflows and customer acquisition through to post-sale customer support operations. This role will partner closely with Systems Engineering, Business Product Management, Revenue Operations, Customer Support, and business stakeholders to deliver platform enhancements, integrations, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Salesforce operates as our system of record within a modern enterprise stack, with Slack serving as the primary user experience layer and Workato as an orchestration backbone. For the right engineer, this means meaningful architectural surface area that goes beyond traditional Salesforce engineering. This role requires an engineering mindset beyond declarative administration. The ideal candidate understands both what is technically possible within Salesforce and when custom development, integration patterns, or platform architecture decisions are appropriate to support long-term scalability and operational efficiency. This role will also contribute to strategic initiatives involving AI-powered workflows and intelligent automation within the Salesforce ecosystem.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Salesforce Engineering & Solution Design

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), APIs, and platform integrations.

Evaluate business requirements and recommend scalable technical approaches using both declarative and programmatic Salesforce capabilities.

Translate loosely defined business problems into technical solutions while balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and user experience.

Participate in architectural discussions and proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, and optimization opportunities.

Contribute to long-term platform strategy and help drive engineering best practices, coding standards, technical documentation, and reusable design patterns.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, automation, and integration issues across Salesforce and connected systems.
Integrations & AI Initiatives

Support and evolve a portfolio of integrations between Salesforce and connected enterprise applications within a headless CRM architecture to ensure reliable data flow and operational continuity.

Contribute to strategic AI and automation initiatives involving Salesforce workflows, customer support operations, and business process optimization.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement scalable AI-enabled capabilities within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Drive automation and operational efficiency through platform enhancements, integrations, and intelligent workflows.
Collaboration & Solution Delivery

Partner with Salesforce administrator who handles day-to-day requests.

Partner with Business Product Managers who triage and scope enhancement requests from business and operations stakeholders for engineering delivery.

Partner with Systems Architects on complex initiatives, translating architectural guidance into production-ready implementations.

Operate effectively within an agile delivery model, actively participating in sprint ceremonies, daily standups, backlog refinement, and release planning activities.

Provide consistent visibility into work progress, blockers, technical risks, and next steps to ensure alignment across engineering and business stakeholders.

Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and proactive communication in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities.

Troubleshoot platform, integration, and operational issues across Salesforce environments and connected systems.

Support testing, documentation, release validation, and operational best practices across platform enhancements and projects.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending Salesforce best practices, automation opportunities, and scalable technical solutions.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of hands-on Salesforce engineering and development experience within SaaS or enterprise environments, including substantial experience with Flows, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), integrations, and custom platform development.

Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform across lead management, sales processes, customer onboarding, support operations, and customer lifecycle workflows.

Self-directed and proactive with a willingness to seek clarification, collaborate, and escalate risks when needed to maintain delivery momentum and solution quality.

Strong critical thinking and solution design skills with the ability to assess ambiguous business problems and propose scalable technical solutions.

Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically about platform capabilities, automation opportunities, and system design patterns.

Ability to independently research platform capabilities, evaluate tradeoffs, and recommend best-fit solutions within Salesforce and connected systems.

Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities, initiatives, and assignments may evolve based on business needs and organizational priorities.

Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas.

Familiarity with AI-powered workflow automation and Salesforce AI capabilities such as Einstein, Agentforce, Prompt Builder, or similar technologies is highly preferred.

Salesforce certifications and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field are preferred.

Certifications: Salesforce Platform Developer I, Salesforce Platform Developer II, Salesforce JavaScript Developer I, Salesforce Integration Architecture Designer, Salesforce Data Architecture and Management Designer.

Experience supporting Salesforce Experience Cloud customer portals.

Familiarity with customer support automation and AI/chatbot workflows.

Experience working within enterprise Salesforce DevOps and CI/CD frameworks.

Experience supporting complex multi-system SaaS ecosystems and integration architectures.

Familiarity with scalable automation strategies and governance best practices within Salesforce environments.

Exposure to Salesforce CPQ or Quote-to-Cash processes is a plus.
