Role description
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with 5–7 years of hands-on experience in test automation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Playwright with TypeScript, along with Appium for mobile automation and cloud-based testing platforms such as LambdaTest and/or BrowserStack.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks for web and mobile applications, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and improving overall product quality through continuous testing practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts for web applications.
- Develop and maintain mobile automation solutions using Appium for Android and iOS.
- Perform UI and functional automation testing.
- Perform API testing and automate API validations where applicable.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing using LambdaTest and/or BrowserStack.
- Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
- Improve test coverage, execution efficiency, framework reliability, and overall QA processes.
- Follow coding standards, automation best practices, and maintainable framework design patterns.
- Participate in sprint planning, requirement analysis, test strategy, and Agile ceremonies.
- Contribute to automation best practices and mentor junior QA engineers where required.
- Prepare test reports, dashboards, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience in QA/Test Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework.
- Strong programming experience in TypeScript and modern JavaScript concepts.
- Experience in developing or maintaining automation frameworks, preferably using Page Object Model and reusable components.
- Hands-on experience with Appium for mobile automation testing.
- Experience testing Android and/or iOS applications.
- Hands-on experience with LambdaTest and/or BrowserStack.
- Strong understanding of UI automation and automation design patterns.
- Experience with API testing, REST APIs, JSON, and API validation.
- Experience executing tests across multiple browsers, operating systems, and devices.
- Knowledge of at least one CI/CD platform, such as:
- Azure DevOps
- Jenkins
- GitHub Actions
- GitLab CI
- Good knowledge of Git/version control.
- Understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and software testing methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Experience with MCP in conjunction with Playwright, as required by the project.
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- Selenium experience.
- BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Performance testing experience.
- Exposure to Docker/containerization.
- Understanding of accessibility testing.
- Understanding of security testing concepts.
- Experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans or Jira/Xray.
- Experience testing cloud-native applications and microservices.
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing and Quality Engineering practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Educational Qualification
