ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft Azure Administrator to manage, scale, and secure our hybrid infrastructure. The person will be responsible for bridging our on-premises data centers with Azure cloud environments, ensuring high availability, automation, and seamless system performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers across on-premises VMware environments and Azure cloud. Manage core system services: User/group management, file systems, permissions and Networking (DNS, DHCP, firewall configurations)
- Cloud Operations: Architect, provision, and manage Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, VNet, and load balancers.
- Hybrid Operations: Plan and execute migration of on-prem Linux workloads to Azure. Implement hybrid solutions integrating on-prem and Azure infrastructure
- Automation& Scripting: Write and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, or Shell scripting) and utilize automation tools (like Ansible, terraform) to automate server provisioning and patching.
- Identity& Access Management: Manage user access, roles, and security policies using Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) / FreeIPA.
- Monitoring& Troubleshooting: Utilize tools like Azure Monitor, Nagios, or Zabbix to monitor system health, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and resolve complex server issues.
- Patching, Security& Compliance: Ensure compliance with security standards by executing routine OS patching (via Red Hat Satellite), vulnerability remediation, and backup operations. Maintain compliance with organizational and audit standards.
- Incident& Problem Management: Troubleshoot complex issues across OS, network, storage, applications, perform root cause analysis and resolution for production incidents. Ensure adherence to ITIL-based service management processes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience managing large-scale production environments
- 8+ years’ experience in Linux Infrastructure Administration.
- Proven experience in Azure cloud and hybrid environments
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong expertise in:
- Linux OS administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewall)
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (Linux workloads)
- Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + Azure)
- Virtualization (VMware / KVM / Hyper-V exposure)
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and performance tuning
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Collaboration& Leadership: Collaborate with Network, security, cloud, and application teams. Act as SME for Linux and hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
