Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM Mainframe Developer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting business-critical mainframe applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business and functional requirements and provide effective technical solutions.
Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
Develop and support online and batch processing applications in IBM Mainframe environments.
Create, modify, and maintain JCLs for batch jobs and production processes.
Develop and optimize DB2 programs, SQL queries, and database access modules.
Work with VSAM files for data storage, retrieval, and maintenance activities.
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve application, batch, and production issues within defined SLAs.
Support system enhancements, maintenance activities, and production deployments.
Coordinate with business users, QA teams, and project stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures.
Participate in application support, incident management, and root cause analysis activities.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance when required.

Required Skills

Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
Good understanding of IBM z/OS environment and mainframe architecture.
Strong SQL and database programming skills in DB2.
Experience in batch processing, job scheduling, and production support.
Proficiency in debugging, performance tuning, and problem resolution.
Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and release management processes.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with tools such as Endevor, Changeman, File-AID, SPUFI, Abend-AID, Expeditor, or similar mainframe utilities.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare domains will be an added advantage.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
