MIDDLEWARE L3

Role Summary: The L3 Middleware Engineer will manage, support, and enhance enterprise middleware and integration platforms, ensuring availability, scalability, and performance of business-critical applications. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, IBM MQ, IBM Master Data Management (MDM), Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SharePoint, and Apache HTTP Server, along with working knowledge of Apache Tomcat, Control-M, and Connect:Direct. This position involves installation, configuration, patch management, upgrades, performance tuning, and complex troubleshooting across middleware components to maintain robust and secure enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide L3-level support for middleware environments including IBM WebSphere, IBM HTTP Server, IBM MQ, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SharePoint, and Apache HTTP Server.
Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations for all supported middleware platforms.
Design and manage high-availability, clustered, and load-balanced middleware configurations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues across middleware layers.
Configure and manage Apache Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server (virtual hosts, SSL setup, load balancing, reverse proxy, etc.).
Administer and maintain Microsoft SharePoint Server and Microsoft IIS environments, including setup, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
Provide IBM MQ support including queue manager configuration, channel setup, and message flow troubleshooting.
Collaborate with application teams to plan deployments and manage dependencies.
Support and monitor batch jobs through Control-M, and manage file transfers via Connect:Direct.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions for recurring issues.
Maintain detailed documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for all middleware platforms.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for production support.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong hands-on expertise in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS),IBM HTTP Server (IHS),IBM MQI,BM Master Data Management (MDM),Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS),Microsoft SharePoint Server (configuration, patching, and upgrades).Apache HTTP Server (HTTPD) (installation, tuning, SSL, reverse proxy, and load balancing)
Working knowledge of Apache Tomcat,Control-M,Connect:Direct(file transfer setup and troubleshooting)
Strong understanding of middleware architecture, security (SSL/certificates), clustering, and load balancing concepts
Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration.
Experience with scripting (Shell or PowerShell) for automation and monitoring
Skilled in troubleshooting, tuning, and performance optimization of middleware app

Certifications & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.IBM Certified System Administrator (WebSphere, MQ, or MDM)
Microsoft Certified: IIS or SharePoint Administration
DevOps or Cloud certification (Azure/AWS) is a plusITIL Foundation certification is an added advantage
