Job Purpose
The IT Technician shall be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of IT infrastructure across assigned academies. The role includes management of computer systems, networks, internet connectivity, CCTV surveillance systems, smart classrooms, computer laboratories, intercom systems, biometric devices, Linux-based systems, and other technology resources to ensure uninterrupted academic and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-User Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support to staff and departments.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and operating system issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Assist users in troubleshooting day-to-day IT-related problems.
- Ensure timely resolution of complaints and service requests.
2. Network and Internet Support
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.
- Troubleshoot network outages and connectivity issues.
- Maintain network switches, routers, access points, and structured cabling.
- Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for fault resolution.
- Monitor network performance and ensure maximum uptime.
3. Computer Lab Management
- Maintain all computers, printers, and networking equipment installed in computer laboratories.
- Install and update operating systems, educational software, and antivirus solutions.
- Ensure laboratories remain fully functional for academic activities.
- Conduct periodic inspection and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain inventory records of computer lab assets.
Printer and Cartridge Management
- Install, configure, and maintain printers, multifunction devices, and scanners.
- Diagnose and resolve printer-related hardware and software issues.
- Monitor printer performance and usage.
- Refill toner and ink cartridges wherever technically feasible and cost-effective.
- Coordinate cartridge replacement and procurement when refilling is not possible.
- Maintain records of cartridge refilling, replacement, and printer consumables.
- Ensure economical utilization of printing resources and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Perform preventive maintenance of printers to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
4. Smart Class and Digital Learning Infrastructure
- Install, configure, and maintain:
- Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs)
- Interactive Boards
- Projectors
- Audio Systems
- Digital Podiums
- Smart Classroom Accessories
- Troubleshoot Smart Class hardware and software issues.
- Provide technical assistance to teachers during classroom sessions when required.
- Ensure proper functioning of digital teaching infrastructure.
- Coordinate repairs, warranty claims, and equipment replacement.
5. CCTV Surveillance Systems
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and storage devices.
- Ensure proper recording and retention of CCTV footage.
- Monitor camera functionality and image quality.
- Troubleshoot surveillance system faults and coordinate repairs.
- Maintain CCTV installation and maintenance records.
6. Intercom and Communication Systems
- Install, configure, and maintain intercom and internal communication systems.
- Support EPABX/IP-PBX systems and communication extensions.
- Troubleshoot communication system faults.
- Maintain communication infrastructure documentation.
7. Biometric Attendance Systems
- Install, configure, and maintain biometric attendance devices.
- Ensure proper synchronization of attendance data.
- Resolve device and software-related issues.
- Coordinate with concerned departments regarding attendance system support.
8. Linux Systems and Open-Source Software Support
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on servers and workstations.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot Linux-based applications and services.
- Support open-source software deployed within the institution.
- Monitor Linux server performance and availability.
- Perform routine backup, restoration, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in maintaining web servers, database servers, file servers, and other Linux-based services.
- Maintain documentation of Linux systems and configurations.
9. Hardware Installation and Deployment
- Install and configure:

- Clean equipment and ensure proper functionality.

11. Asset and Inventory Management
- Maintain records of all IT assets installed within assigned academies.
- Update asset registers whenever equipment is installed, transferred, repaired, or replaced.
- Participate in periodic physical verification of IT assets.
- Ensure proper tagging and tracking of equipment.
12. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain records of support tickets, repairs, maintenance activities, and installations.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly work reports.
- Maintain documentation related to:
- Network Infrastructure

13. User Training and Support
- Provide basic user training on IT systems and software.
- Assist teachers in using Smart Class equipment and digital learning tools.
- Support academy activities, examinations, admissions, inspections, and events.
- Promote responsible and secure use of IT resources.
14. Information Security and Compliance
- Follow organizational IT policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling of passwords, user accounts, and confidential information.
- Report security incidents and unauthorized activities immediately.
- Assist in implementing cybersecurity and data protection measures.

Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in IT support, networking, hardware maintenance, or system administration.
- Experience in educational institutions shall be preferred.

Authority
The IT Technician is authorized to perform routine installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration of IT infrastructure within approved policies and procedures. Procurement decisions, major infrastructure modifications, and policy matters shall be referred to the IT Team Leader or Head of IT Department for approval.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
