Full job description

We are looking for a curious, analytical, and detail-oriented Data Scientist who can help Itinero turn data into insights, predictions, and better product decisions.

You will work closely with product, marketing, operations, and development teams to analyze user behavior, build dashboards, develop models, and uncover patterns that improve growth, efficiency, and customer experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving business problems, building machine learning solutions, and helping shape smarter decisions in a fast-moving startup environment.

ResponsibilitiesData Analysis & Insights

Analyze user, product, and business data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
Build reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for key stakeholders
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
Support decision-making across product, marketing, and operations

Machine Learning & Modeling

Develop predictive models, scoring systems, and recommendation solutions
Work on classification, forecasting, segmentation, and anomaly detection problems
Evaluate model performance and improve accuracy over time
Contribute to experimentation and data-driven product optimization

Data Engineering Collaboration

Work with engineers to ensure clean, reliable, and usable data pipelines
Help define metrics, event tracking, and data collection requirements
Support database structure, data quality checks, and reporting consistency
Collaborate on setting up analytics infrastructure and workflows

Product & Business Collaboration

Partner with product teams to understand user behavior and product performance
Support A/B testing, experimentation, and feature analysis
Help identify growth opportunities through data
Present findings in a way that is easy for non-technical teams to understand

Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with large or complex datasets
Understanding of statistics, data analysis, and machine learning fundamentals
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools
Ability to communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical teams
Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
Comfort working in a startup or fast-paced environment

Bonus Skills

Experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
Knowledge of product analytics and experimentation
Experience with forecasting, recommendation systems, or NLP
Familiarity with cloud platforms and data warehouses
Experience building dashboards in tools like Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Metabase
Knowledge of data pipeline tools and analytics engineering concepts
