We are inviting applications from highly research-active candidates for the position of full-time Assistant Professor in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).

FLAME University, Pune (Maharashtra, India), is a pioneer in liberal education in India. With a strong focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching, FLAME School of Design, Art, and Performance believes that the field of design is no longer just about making; it is about having a systemic view of the world and approaching opportunities and the modern world needs through creative and comprehensive resolution. Thus, leveraging FLAME's liberal education approach, the School of Design, Art, and Performance strives to provide students with relevant and new-generation competencies to help them holistically approach their work as designers.

We are inviting applications for the position of full-time Assistant Professor in Human-Computer Interaction.

Faculty responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching, conducting research, advising students, participating in conferences, and academic administration:

The Assistant Professor will be responsible for designing and conducting research projects in the area of HCI, with a specific focus on AR/VR, electronics, and embedded systems. This involves the responsibility of publishing scholarly articles in leading journals and conferences.
The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels related to HCI that will involve preparing course materials that incorporate these technologies, delivering lectures and facilitating discussions that focus on their application in interactive systems, assessing student performance in projects that involve these technologies, and providing feedback and mentoring to students on their use. Additionally, the Assistant Professor will mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students in HCI. This will involve guiding research projects that use these technologies, career development opportunities in this field, and professional networking with experts in these areas.
The Assistant Professor will be expected to participate in various academic and administrative activities of the department, such as attending meetings, serving on committees, and contributing to the development of the curriculum and research agenda of the department.
The Assistant Professor will be responsible for engaging with industry and other external partners to promote research and innovation in the area of HCI.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. (awarded or nearing submission) in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
Demonstrated expertise and research experience in HCI
Strong teaching skills and a commitment to excellence in education
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Evidence of scholarly achievement, including publications and grants
