Bright Angle Design & Build is looking for a talented, creative and highly hands-on Interior Designer to join our team.
We are looking for someone who is not just good at making drawings, but can think, design, visualize, present and coordinate a project from concept to execution.
The ideal candidate will be a 3D-first designer with strong expertise in SketchUp + Enscape, excellent client communication skills, good construction knowledge and the ability to independently manage multiple projects.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 2–5 years of professional experience in Interior Design, execution and management.
- Strong experience in residential interiors, offices and commercial spaces.
- Mumbai project experience is mandatory.
- Candidates should have personally worked on projects from concept → design development → 3D visualization → working drawings → execution coordination → completion.
- Extremely strong creative and design thinking — creativity is one of the most important criteria for this position.
- Excellent understanding of space planning, interior styling, material selection, furniture design, lighting, ceiling design, detailing, finishes and overall design development.
- Ability to take a client's brief and independently develop creative, practical and constructible design solutions.
- Ability to generate multiple design options quickly during client discussions.
- Strong understanding of construction and the ability to ensure that designs are actually executable on site.
3D & VISUALIZATION — CRITICAL REQUIREMENT
SketchUp is mandatory.
This is a 3D-first design role. Candidates who primarily work in AutoCAD and rely on 2D drawings or hand sketches for developing designs will not be suitable for this position.
You should be able to:
- Independently create detailed SketchUp models from your own design concepts.
- Model furniture, joinery, materials, ceilings, lighting and other design elements.
- Develop design concepts directly in SketchUp.
- Make design modifications quickly based on client feedback.
- Present your designs directly to clients using your 3D model.
- Create high-quality, presentation-ready renders using Enscape.
- Use 3D visualization as an actual design-development and client-presentation tool, rather than simply producing renders after the design is finalized.
SketchUp + Enscape proficiency is therefore a core requirement of this role.
Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva and other design software is an advantage but not mandatory.
DRAWING & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
The candidate should have strong knowledge of preparing and understanding:
- Working drawings
- Furniture and joinery drawings
- Ceiling drawings
- Flooring layouts
- Electrical drawings
- Plumbing drawings
- Detailed construction drawings
- Site measurement drawings
- As-built drawings
- Material and finish details
- Construction detailing
You should also be comfortable reading and understanding BOQs, estimates and vendor quotations, although preparing BOQs will not be the primary responsibility of this position.
CONSTRUCTION & SITE EXPERIENCE
Your designs should not only look good — they should be buildable.
You should have practical knowledge of interior execution and understand how your designs translate to site.
You should be able to:
- Understand construction methods and detailing.
- Identify execution errors independently.
- Communicate corrections clearly to site engineers and contractors.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, fabricators and site supervisors.
- Resolve design-related site issues.
- Coordinate remotely with the execution team and make occasional site visits to ensure that the design intent is maintained.
Site visits will generally be as required, and will be considerably less frequent than those of the site execution team.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION
Excellent communication skills are essential.
You should be comfortable:
- Conducting client meetings independently.
- Understanding and interpreting client requirements.
- Presenting design concepts and 3D models.
- Explaining design decisions confidently.
- Taking and incorporating client feedback.
- Suggesting alternatives when required.
- Handling difficult clients professionally.
- Managing design changes and expectations diplomatically.
- Communicating professionally through WhatsApp and email.
- Presenting ideas clearly in English and Hindi.
Excellent spoken English and Hindi communication skills are mandatory.
PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES
You will primarily be responsible for managing the design and client-coordination side of multiple projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Client Brief → Concept Development → Space Planning → Design Development → SketchUp Modelling → Enscape Rendering → Client Presentation → Design Revisions → Working Drawings → Coordination with Site/Execution Team → Design-Related Site Visits → Completion Coordination
You should be capable of independently handling approximately 3–5 projects simultaneously, depending on project stage and workload.
Junior designers/draftsmen may be provided as the team and workload grow, but you should initially be capable of handling your responsibilities independently.
You will work closely with the Principal Architect, Site Engineers, Contractors, Vendors and other team members.

LOCATION & WORKING ARRANGEMENT
Employment: Full-time | On Payroll
Office Location: Chembur, Mumbai
Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM , Monday to Saturday with flexibility.
The role offers flexibility between office, work-from-home and site, depending on project requirements and coordination with the Principal Architect and team.
Project locations are primarily across:
Central Mumbai: Chembur, Ghatkopar, Mulund and surrounding areas
Navi Mumbai: Vashi, to Kharghar and surrounding areas
Candidates should preferably be based within Mumbai / Navi Mumbai, with convenient access to these project locations.
Candidates residing far away, particularly on the Western suburbs/Western Line, may find the location and site requirements unsuitable.
Site travel expenses will be reimbursed as applicable.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Candidates must have formal education in Architecture or Interior Design.
Acceptable qualifications include:
- B.Arch
- B.Des
- Degree in Interior Design
- Diploma in Interior Design
- Other recognized formal qualifications in Architecture / Interior Design
Candidates without formal education in Architecture or Interior Design will not be considered.
EXPERIENCE
Required: 2–4 years
Mumbai-based project experience is mandatory.
COMPENSATION
₹24,000 – ₹36,000 per month, depending on skills, experience and overall suitability.
The first 3 months will be a probation period. During probation, compensation will be based on the candidate's current salary, subject to submission of valid salary/payslip proof.
Performance-based incentives may be offered based on individual performance and contribution.

This practical test is intended to evaluate your actual design thinking, 3D modelling ability, visualization quality, creativity and ability to translate a brief into a practical design.
