Our products include VFD control panels, soft starters, lift station automation systems, and PLC-based SCADA solutions for municipalities and industrial clients across North America.
We are seeking a high-performing, senior-level Inside Sales Executive in India who can drive revenue, generate qualified opportunities, close deals, and strategically guide our U.S. field sales team to accelerate business growth.
Your Mission: Generate Revenue & Build Market Dominance
This is not a traditional support role. You will own the sales process from prospecting to closing, working as a strategic partner to our outside sales team and leadership. Your success will be measured by orders booked, revenue generated, and pipeline created.
Core Responsibilities
1. Sales Generation & Revenue Conversion (Primary Focus)
- Prospect, qualify, and close deals for VFDs, soft starters, control panels, and automation systems in the Water & Wastewater sector. Convert qualified leads into purchase orders through persistent follow-up, technical consultation, and negotiation
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for new customer acquisition and revenue booked. Take ownership of the full sales cycle: initial contact → qualification → technical discussion → proposal → quote → negotiation → order closing
- Drive quote-to-order conversion rates through strategic follow-up and relationship building
2. Lead Generation & Opportunity Creation
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, and digital channels to create awareness and generate qualified opportunities. Identify and target decision-makers: plant engineers, electrical contractors, system integrators, municipalities, consulting engineers, and OEMs in Water & Wastewater
- Research accounts, build target lists, and execute multi-touch campaigns to fill the sales pipeline
- Book qualified meetings for the U.S.-based outside sales team and personally handle closable opportunities remotely
3. Strategic Sales Leadership & Guidance
- Guide and direct the U.S. field sales team on market trends, competitive positioning, technical objections, and deal strategies
- Collaborate closely with outside salespeople to co-develop winning proposals and pricing strategies
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to the sales team on VFD specifications, control system design, and application engineering
- Provide coaching on objection handling, negotiation tactics, and consultative selling techniques
4. Customer Relationship Management & CRM Excellence
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with engineers, procurement teams, and facility managers in target accounts
- Maintain 100% CRM discipline in Zoho CRM: log all activities, update pipeline stages, track quotes, and forecast accurately
- Manage follow-up sequences for dormant leads, stalled quotes, and repeat customers to maximize lifetime valuejob-evaluation-criteria-for-inside-sales-representatives-3.docx+1
5. Market Intelligence & AI-Driven Insights
- Leverage AI tools and analytics to identify emerging opportunities, predict customer buying behavior, and prioritize high-value accounts
- Conduct competitive analysis, pricing research, and market studies specific to Water & Wastewater automation
- Deliver weekly pipeline reports, sales forecasts, and performance analytics to management
- Provide actionable feedback to product development and marketing on customer pain points, feature requests, and market gaps
6. Marketing Collaboration & Brand Building
- Partner with the marketing team to create compelling sales collateral, case studies, and application guides for the Water & Wastewater industry
- Lead webinars, virtual demos, and online training sessions to educate prospects and customers
- Drive social selling initiatives on LinkedIn to build thought leadership and generate inbound interest
- Support trade show planning, email campaigns, and content marketing strategies
What You Bring to the Table
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering
- 7-10 years of proven B2B sales experience in industrial automation, drives, motor controls, or electrical systems careers.
- Strong track record of closing deals and exceeding sales targets — you must demonstrate consistent revenue generation and conversion success
- Deep technical knowledge of VFDs, soft starters, PLCs, SCADA/HMI, motor control centers, and electrical distribution (480V systems preferred)
- Water & Wastewater industry expertise: lift stations, pump controls, treatment plants, municipal infrastructure.
- Excellent English communication skills — fluent spoken and written English with strong phone presence and presentation ability
- Advanced Zoho CRM proficiency (or Salesforce, HubSpot) with disciplined pipeline management
Preferred Skills
- Experience selling Rockwell Automation, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or Eaton products in careers.
- Prior success selling from India to the U.S./North American markets
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator and digital prospecting expertise
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered sales tools (predictive analytics, lead scoring, chatbots)
- Background in technical pre-sales, application engineering, or systems integration
- Leadership experience: mentoring junior sales staff, coordinating cross-functional teams
