Job Description – Warehouse Accountant

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
Industry Preference: FMCG (priority) / Consumer Goods Industry / CA Firm
Location: Turbhe, Navi Mumbai
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Finance Controller

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Warehouse Accountant to manage warehouse-related accounting operations, inventory reconciliation, and financial documentation. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the FMCG industry (preferrable), consumer goods sector, or a CA firm, with strong knowledge of inventory accounting, stock verification, and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and monitor warehouse accounting records and inventory transactions.
Perform daily stock reconciliation between physical stock and ERP/system records.
Verify inward and outward material entries, invoices, GRNs, and delivery challans.
Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and finance teams for smooth operational flow.
Ensure proper accounting of inventory, damaged goods, shortages, and returns.
Assist in monthly closing activities and preparation of inventory-related reports.
Conduct periodic physical stock audits and support internal/external audits.
Track and reconcile vendor invoices, transportation expenses, and warehouse-related costs.
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Identify discrepancies and support corrective actions for inventory variances.
Support implementation and adherence to process controls and SOPs.

Required Skills & Competencies

Good understanding of inventory accounting and warehouse operations.
Knowledge of GST, invoicing, and basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting software (such as Tally, SAP, Busy, or similar).
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com / M.Com preferred).
Additional certification in accounting or taxation will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in FMCG, consumer goods industry, warehouse accounting, or a CA firm.
Experience handling inventory accounting and warehouse reconciliation activities.
Familiarity with ERP systems and stock management processes preferred.
