Full job description

Job Objective:
The Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting extensive research on the logistics and supply chain market, including freight, warehousing, and transportation services. The role involves benchmarking procurement practices, analyzing cost and pricing drivers, and evaluating industry participants. The analyst will develop hypotheses, perform deep-dive analysis, and identify best practices and actionable insights to support strategic procurement decision-making and market forecasting.

Job Requirements:

Ability to effectively operate independently and in a team environment
In-depth knowledge on various strategic quadrants and the procurement analysis tools
Strong Communication skills, to interact with clients and primary experts; Ability to gather requirements from clients and develop Business/Project Requirement Document (BRD)
Negotiation and persuasive skills to discuss and obtain information from suppliers and experts
Strong MS Excel (Advanced), PPT Skills
Develop Insights on sourcing practices and risk mitigation
Business acumen and strong data interpretation skills to connect dots and predict market developments
Basic understanding on the value chain of the respective domain and how each category is related to drive the top line growth
Should have strong understanding about packaging commodities and related experience in projects or direct procurement of the same
Experience in doing financial analysis of companies, understanding of financial interpretations
Candidates with Strong Acumen and interest in working knowledge in Prompt Engineering, AI tools such as but not limited towards Claude, chatgpt, grok, etc. shall be preferred

Job Responsibilities:

Understand client’s procurement challenges in Packaging/Logistics/Warehousing and the impact in business
Execute/Draft customized market Intelligence reports with strong and pointed procurement takeaways for the clients
Identification of sources of information (Secondary and primary sources)
Thorough understanding of the commodity/Services under research.(The production process and other generic technical details of the commodity)
Identification of various drivers of the commodity/Services under research - cost/demand/price drivers.
Determination of the economic behaviour of the supply/demand/price of the commodity/Services.
Identification of experts and interactions to obtain meaningful takeaways for the commodity/Services
Competitive analysis & Industry analysis.
Use of various strategic frameworks to determine competitive positioning.
Forecasts – Industry/Price trends and more.
Impact determination – macroeconomics/downstream demand/supply chain/disruptions/legislation/taxes on the supply and price of the commodity
Providing inputs towards price forecasts – (quantitative information/factors to support the price forecast of the commodity)

Qualification: Master's degree / Any MBA (Marketing/Operations/Logistics/Supply Chain/Finance) with minimum 60% from class X onwards.

Work Experience: 1 to 4 years of experience in market research / consulting.
