Urgently Hiring Shift In-Charge for Frozen Vegetables Manufacturing Unit

Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head
Job Purpose
To supervise and coordinate shift-wise production operations in the frozen vegetables manufacturing plant, ensuring achievement of production targets while maintaining product quality, food safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with company standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Shift Production Management
- Manage and monitor all production activities during the assigned shift.
- Ensure smooth operation of the frozen vegetable processing line.
- Achieve daily production targets as per production plan.
- Allocate manpower effectively to meet production requirements.
- Ensure uninterrupted production flow and minimize downtime.
2. Process Monitoring & Control
- Monitor critical processing stages including:
- Raw material receiving
- Washing and sorting
- Cutting and grading
- Blanching
- IQF freezing
- Packaging
- Cold storage transfer
- Ensure process parameters are maintained within specified limits.
- Report and resolve process deviations promptly.
3. Quality & Food Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- GHP (Good Hygiene Practices)
- HACCP requirements
- Food Safety Standards
- Coordinate with the Quality team for in-process quality checks.
- Ensure only approved products move to the next processing stage.
- Maintain product traceability and batch identification.
4. Manpower Management
- Supervise operators, helpers, and contract workers during the shift.
- Assign duties and monitor employee performance.
- Ensure attendance, discipline, and productivity of shift personnel.
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication.
5. Equipment & Utility Coordination
- Ensure proper operation of processing and freezing equipment.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for equipment breakdowns.
- Monitor utility availability such as:
- Refrigeration systems
- Compressed air
- Steam
- Water supply
- Minimize production losses due to equipment failures.
6. Production Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate shift production records.
- Record:
- Production quantity
- Downtime
- Rejections
- Wastage
- Shift observations
- Prepare and submit shift reports to management.
- Ensure completion of production logbooks and checklists.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety procedures.
- Monitor PPE usage by all employees and contractors.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or practices.
- Participate in safety inspections and emergency response activities.
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies and statutory requirements.
8. Cold Chain & Storage Management
- Ensure frozen products are transferred to cold storage without temperature deviations.
- Monitor cold chain practices during production and dispatch.
- Coordinate with warehouse and cold storage teams.
- Prevent product quality deterioration due to improper handling.
9. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce wastage.
- Support implementation of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen initiatives.
- Participate in process improvement projects.
- Drive operational efficiency within the shift.

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Sc. / B.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, Mechanical, Production, or related field
- Experience in frozen vegetables, IQF foods, or food manufacturing industry preferred
