Job Summary
The Sales Consultant / Sales Engineer – Passive Fire Protection will be responsible for driving business development and technical sales of fire protection solutions across industrial and infrastructure sectors.
This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, consultative selling, and project-based sales expertise, especially in fire stopping, fire coating, and fire proofing systems.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Technical Sales
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in Passive Fire Protection (PFP) segment
- Promote and sell solutions related to:
- Fire Stopping Systems
- Fire Coating / Intumescent Coatings
- Fire Proofing (Structural Steel Protection)
- Target industries such as construction, oil & gas, EPC contractors, and infrastructure projects
- Achieve sales targets and expand market share
2. Client Consultation & Solution Selling
- Understand project requirements, specifications, and fire safety standards
- Provide technical consultation and product recommendations to clients
- Conduct product presentations and technical discussions with consultants, engineers, and procurement teams
3. Tendering & Proposal Management
- Identify and participate in RFQs, tenders, and project bids
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals, BOQs, and compliance documentation
- Ensure alignment with fire safety standards and project specifications
4. Vendor Registration & Compliance
- Manage vendor registration with major contractors, consultants, and government entities
- Maintain certifications and compliance documentation related to fire protection products
5. Sourcing & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers of fire protection materials
- Ensure products meet required certifications (UL, ASTM, BS, EN standards, etc.)
- Negotiate pricing and ensure competitive commercial offers
6. Project Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate order processing, delivery schedules, and site requirements
- Ensure proper documentation (technical datasheets, certifications, approvals)
- Support clients during installation stages if required
7. CRM, Reporting & Collections
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline and client database
- Track project progress and sales performance
- Follow up on payments and support collections process
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sales revenue from Passive Fire Protection segment
- Number of new projects secured
- Tender success rate
- RFQ to order conversion ratio
- Client acquisition and retention
- Profit margins maintained
- Timely project execution and delivery
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Civil / Industrial preferred) or relevant field
- 2–5 years of experience in Passive Fire Protection / Fire Safety Sales
- Experience in:
- Fire Stopping
- Fire Coating
- Fire Proofing
- Experience working with EPC contractors or construction companies is a strong advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of Passive Fire Protection systems
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications
- Experience in tendering and techno-commercial proposals
- Knowledge of fire safety standards and certifications (UL, ASTM, BS, EN)
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools
