Unlike traditional QA roles, the SDET operates as a developer focused entirely on testing. You will write production-grade test code, build scalable automation tooling, debug application code, and contribute directly to the platform's overall quality architecture across our modern full-stack ecosystem. Your work will empower millions of learners by ensuring highly reliable, seamless, and defect-free digital learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Test Automation & Quality Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for frontend, backend, and end-to-end testing.
- Create reliable test suites covering functional, integration, regression, performance, and API testing.
- Build reusable testing utilities, fixtures, mocks, and validation tools.
- Develop automated quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
Software Development & Debugging
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable TypeScript code for test automation and internal tooling.
- Debug application code and collaborate with developers to identify root causes of defects.
- Contribute to improving application testability, observability, and reliability.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews with a focus on quality and risk mitigation.
Continuous Quality & Collaboration
- Define and track quality metrics, test coverage, and release readiness criteria.
- Drive shift-left testing practices and advocate for testing best practices across the engineering organization.
- Partner closely with Software Engineers teams throughout the development lifecycle to review requirements and identify quality risks early.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience & Technical Proficiency
- 3+ years of experience in SDET, Test Automation Engineering, or Software Engineering with significant testing responsibilities.
- Strong developer mindset with an ownership mentality, robust problem-solving abilities, and a passion for engineering excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Programming & Development Skills
- Mastery of Core Testing Stack: Playwright (E2E), Jest/Vitest (Unit/Component), Bun Test Runner (API/Backend).
- Hands-on proficiency with modern Frontend tools: Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI / shadcn/ ui, React Hook Form, Zod.
- Practical familiarity with Backend layers: Elysia, Bun Runtime, Prisma ORM, Redis, BullMQ, Firebase Admin, Better Auth.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure & Platform components: Turborepo, Bun Workspaces, Vercel, Docker, GitHub Actions.
Soft Skills & Growth Mindset (Good to Have)
- Familiarity with k6 (Performance/Load) and Test containers (Integration).
- Experience testing modern React and Next.js applications.
- Experience testing queue-driven systems (Bull MQ) and Redis caching validation.
- Exposure to monorepo optimization, contract testing, and cloud-native observability tools.
