Role Summary:
Xylem’s Information Technology Project Management Organization (PMO) is seeking a motivated and experienced project manager to lead and deliver IT infrastructure components of facility Adds, Moves, Closures (AMC) and Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestiture (M&A/D) initiatives across Xylem’s Eastern Hemisphere operations. This role ensures infrastructure scope is executed in alignment with Xylem’s IT PMO Project Management Methodology (PMM), IT Service Management (ITSM) change practices, and security standards.
This IT Project Manager partners closely with the IT Real Estate Program Manager, IT Infrastructure Workplace Services, Cybersecurity, M&A/D leadership, and regional business stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and execute infrastructure workstreams that enable timely site readiness, business continuity, and secure integration or separation. The IT Project Manager ensures projects are delivered successfully on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Travel requirements may vary depending on the project; however, it is anticipated that this position may travel approximately 20% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery & Governance

Lead IT infrastructure project delivery for AMC and M&A/D initiatives, including new site builds, relocations, closures, integrations, and divestitures.

Lead M&A/D integration plans; establish Day‑1/30/100 milestones, cutover criteria, rollback, and communications, aligned to Xylem’s IT M&A/D runbooks.

Project management execution: Lead projects through discovery, design, build, test, validation, cutover, and closure, applying the IT PMO Project Management Methodology (PMM) to manage scope, schedule, resourcing, cost, risks, dependencies, and quality.

Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts.

Define and maintain an integrated project plan and track project milestones.

Ensure realistic and reliable resource plans across the project, focusing on the availability and commitment of appropriately skilled resources.

Prepare and maintain required governance artifacts, including project charter, detailed project plan, RAID log, and status reporting.

Identify, clarify, track, and manage risks/opportunities, issues and decisions. Remove barriers, resolve project issues and escalate as appropriate.

Manage financial forecasts and provide on-going budget variance and scope change requests and participate in the budget-resolution process.

Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the project lifecycle and ensure projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the IT PMO organization.

Foster partnerships with program / project stakeholders and sponsors to define success criteria and metrics.

Serve as a subject matter expert to regularly brief key stakeholders on various aspects of assigned initiatives and publish accurate and professional project status reporting.

Ensure all projects meet success parameters and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Ensure projects comply with established quality stage gates, approvals, and reporting requirements.

Ensure operational handover, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Service Desk knowledge updates.

Drive continuous improvement of standards, playbooks, and checklists.
Infrastructure & Change Execution

Coordinate infrastructure activities including network, connectivity, end-user computing, collaboration tools, data center or cloud services, and telephony. Orchestrate network, voice/Teams, server/cloud, endpoint, print/scan, AV, identity, and security readiness to meet Day‑0/Day‑1/Day‑100 milestones with zero critical incident impact.

Partner with ITSM stakeholders to plan and execute changes, cutovers, and complete change windows, ensuring minimal business disruption.

Ensure proper sequencing of infrastructure readiness relative to facility milestones, legal close, and business operations.
Cross‑Functional Coordination

Work in close collaboration with:

IT Real Estate Program Manager on site timelines, dependencies and escalations.

Workplace Services and Infrastructure teams on technical design and execution.
-
Cybersecurity to ensure controls, risk assessments, and compliance are addressed.

External carriers, cabling/low-voltage contractors, hardware logistics, local facility vendors.

M&A/D leadership and business owners to align IT delivery to transaction goals.

Facilitate cross‑functional planning sessions, issue resolution, and decision‑making forums.
Risk, Issue, and Financial Management

Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, with particular focus on security, timing, regional constraints, and third‑party dependencies.

Track project financials, including Capex/Opex estimates, forecasts, and actuals, ensuring transparency and alignment with approved budgets.

Escalate risks and issues appropriately with clear impact assessments and recommended actions.
Communication & Stakeholder Management

Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to regional and global stakeholders, including executive‑level status and decision points.

Translate complex infrastructure topics into business‑relevant impacts and timelines.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, Licenses/Certifications:
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

7 – 10+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure projects in a global multi-site / multi-regional environment.

Direct experience supporting facility moves, site openings/closures (AMC) or M&A/D IT integrations or separations.

Proficiency with IT project management governance (quality stage gates, project & stakeholder communications and reporting) and ITSM Change Management.

Strong vendor management, communication, and cross‑functional leadership.

Strong working knowledge of:

Infrastructure technologies (networking (LAN/WAN/SD-WAN/Wi-Fi), identity/SSO, endpoint imaging, printing, AV, server/cloud (Azure), and security / segmentation; familiarity with ERP connectivity footprints.

Experience working across multiple time zones and cultures.

Proficient with the Microsoft 365 tool suite, developing effective project communications.
