Full job description

Job Description

We are looking for a hands‑on Production Supervisor to support daily shop‑floor operations in a sheet‑metal and tubular fabrication environment. The role involves managing production activities, coordinating manpower, ensuring quality, and supporting the Factory Manager in achieving output, safety, and delivery targets.

This position is ideal for professionals who have strong technical knowledge in fabrication processes and are ready to take responsibility for a production line or section.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Operations

Supervise day‑to‑day production activities across fabrication, welding, laser cutting, or assembly sections.
Ensure adherence to production plans, shift schedules, and output targets.
Monitor machine utilization, material flow, and WIP levels.
Support NPD trials and engineering changes under guidance of senior engineers/managers.

2. Quality & Process Control

Ensure compliance with quality standards for MS/SS/Aluminium fabrication.
Conduct in‑process inspections and coordinate with QA for defect analysis.
Implement basic problem‑solving tools (7QC, QCC, Kaizen) to reduce rework and improve process stability.

3. Manpower & Shop‑Floor Management

Handle a team of 15–30 operators and technicians.
Allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure discipline and safety.
Train operators on SOPs, machine handling, and quality requirements.

4. Technical & System Skills

Exposure to laser cutting machines, nesting basics, press shop, welding, or roll forming.
Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication process documents.
Working knowledge of ERP systems for production entries, material tracking, and reporting.

5. Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and 5S practices.
Report incidents, near misses, and support corrective actions.

Preferred Experience

Sheet metal, tubular fabrication, or heavy fabrication.
Exposure to railway components manufacturing (added advantage).
Knowledge of TIG/MAG welding, robotic welding, or SPM operations.

Education

Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or related fields.
