Position Overview
We are seeking an innovative and research-oriented Scientist – Nanomaterials & Nanotechnology to lead the development of advanced nanomaterials, nanoscale devices, and nanotechnology-enabled solutions for applications in healthcare, energy, environmental sustainability, electronics, agriculture, and advanced manufacturing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, synthesizing, characterizing, and translating novel nanomaterials into scalable products and technologies. This role requires strong expertise in nanoscience, material characterization, product innovation, and interdisciplinary research.
Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Development
- Design, synthesize, and engineer advanced nanomaterials with tailored physical, chemical, optical, electrical, and biological properties.
- Conduct research in areas such as:
- Nanoparticles and nanocomposites
- Nanocoatings and functional surfaces
- Nanofibers and nanostructures
- Quantum dots and advanced nanomaterials
- Nanobiotechnology
- Nano-enabled sensors and devices
- Develop innovative nanotechnology-based products and solutions for industrial and societal challenges.
- Lead laboratory-scale and pilot-scale nanotechnology research projects.
Nanomaterial Synthesis & Fabrication
- Develop synthesis methods including:
- Chemical synthesis
- Sol-gel processing
- Hydrothermal synthesis
- Electrospinning
- Chemical vapor deposition (CVD)
- Physical vapor deposition (PVD)
- Self-assembly techniques
- Optimize fabrication processes for reproducibility, scalability, and performance.
- Develop multifunctional nanomaterials for specific applications.
Characterization & Analysis
- Perform advanced characterization using techniques such as:
- SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy)
- TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy)
- AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy)
- XRD (X-Ray Diffraction)
- FTIR
- Raman Spectroscopy
- UV-Visible Spectroscopy
- DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering)
- BET Surface Area Analysis
- Zeta Potential Analysis
- Analyze nanomaterial structure-property relationships.
- Evaluate material performance under relevant operating conditions.
Product Development & Commercialization
- Translate laboratory innovations into scalable technologies and commercial products.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams for technology transfer and scale-up.
- Conduct prototype development, validation, and field testing.
- Assess market opportunities and application potential of nanotechnology solutions.
Innovation, Publications & Intellectual Property
- Identify emerging opportunities in nanotechnology and advanced materials.
- Generate patents, invention disclosures, and intellectual property assets.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and scientific documentation.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of nanomaterials.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory safety standards and nanomaterial regulations.
- Support risk assessment and environmental health evaluations of developed materials.

Experience

- Exceptional fresh Ph.D. graduates with strong nanotechnology research experience may also apply.
