Diamond Jewellery Merchandiser

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Up to ₹45,000 per month
Experience: 3–8 Years
Work Location: In Person
Travel: Frequent travel across India

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Diamond Jewellery Merchandiser to join our growing jewellery brand. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in diamond jewellery sourcing, buying, supplier management, product selection, merchandising, and collection planning.

The candidate should have a strong understanding of diamond jewellery, product quality, certifications, pricing, market trends, customer preferences, and vendor networks. Willingness to travel across India for sourcing, exhibitions, and supplier meetings is essential.

Key ResponsibilitiesDiamond Jewellery Sourcing & Procurement

Source high-quality diamond jewellery from reputed manufacturers, wholesalers, and suppliers across India.
Identify and develop relationships with reliable diamond jewellery manufacturers and vendors.
Source solitaire, bridal, engagement, daily-wear, and contemporary diamond jewellery collections.
Evaluate products based on design, diamond quality, craftsmanship, pricing, and customer demand.
Negotiate product pricing, making charges, margins, delivery timelines, and commercial terms.

Merchandising & Collection Development

Research current diamond jewellery trends and customer preferences.
Plan collections for bridal, engagement, festive, daily-wear, and special occasions.
Identify trending and fast-moving diamond jewellery designs.
Select products based on customer profile, price points, design trends, and sales performance.
Develop exclusive and commercially viable diamond jewellery collections.
Coordinate with design, marketing, sales, and inventory teams for new collection launches.

Diamond Knowledge & Product Evaluation

Maintain good knowledge of the 4Cs – Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat.
Understand diamond grading and certification requirements.
Evaluate diamond jewellery based on quality, design, stone specifications, and pricing.
Verify product specifications and certification details where applicable.
Keep updated with diamond market trends and pricing.

Supplier & Vendor Management

Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable diamond jewellery suppliers.
Visit manufacturing units and supplier facilities when required.
Assess vendor capabilities, craftsmanship, quality standards, pricing, and delivery performance.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure timely delivery.

Market Visits & Exhibitions

Travel across India to attend jewellery exhibitions, trade fairs, sourcing events, and supplier meetings.
Identify new manufacturers, designers, collections, and sourcing opportunities.
Track emerging diamond jewellery trends and regional customer preferences.
Represent the company professionally during supplier meetings and exhibitions.

Pricing & Commercial Planning

Monitor diamond and gold market pricing and their impact on jewellery costs.
Compare vendor pricing, making charges, diamond costs, and commercial terms.
Ensure products are commercially viable and aligned with company pricing strategies.
Support purchase and management teams in making informed buying decisions.

Inventory & Product Planning

Coordinate with purchase, inventory, and sales teams for product planning.
Analyse sales performance and identify fast-moving and slow-moving diamond jewellery.
Plan procurement according to demand, seasonality, and stock requirements.
Maintain an appropriate product mix across different price segments.
Help minimize excess and slow-moving inventory.
Maintain accurate product and vendor records.

Requirements

3–8 years of experience in Diamond Jewellery Merchandising, Buying, Sourcing, or Procurement.
Strong knowledge of diamond jewellery, diamond quality, grading, and certification.
Good understanding of the 4Cs – Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat.
Experience in supplier sourcing, vendor negotiation, and product procurement.
Good understanding of bridal, solitaire, engagement, daily-wear, and contemporary diamond jewellery.
Strong knowledge of jewellery trends, pricing, and customer preferences.
Willingness to travel frequently across India.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory management systems is preferred.
