We are seeking a competent and dedicated System Administrator to join our Information Technology Department and ensure the smooth operation, security, and reliability of the hospital’s IT infrastructure.
Position Summary
The System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and performance of the hospital’s servers, networks, operating systems, and IT infrastructure. The role ensures uninterrupted availability of critical healthcare information systems and supports the organization's digital transformation initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesServer Administration
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
- Monitor server performance and ensure optimal system availability.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
- Manage virtualized environments and cloud-based infrastructure, where applicable.
Network Management
- Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity.
- Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues and connectivity problems.
- Ensure network security through proper firewall and access control configurations.
Information Security
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect hospital data and systems.
- Monitor security logs and investigate potential threats or breaches.
- Manage antivirus, endpoint protection, and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with hospital information security policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain user access controls and privilege management.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Develop and maintain system backup schedules.
- Monitor successful completion of backups and perform periodic restoration testing.
- Maintain disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Ensure secure storage and retention of backup data.
Hospital Information Systems Support
- Support Hospital Information Systems (HIS), EMR/EHR applications, PACS, LIS, and other clinical applications.
- Coordinate with software vendors for troubleshooting and system enhancements.
- Ensure minimal downtime of mission-critical healthcare applications.
Hardware and Infrastructure Management
- Maintain servers, storage devices, workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of IT infrastructure.
- Monitor UPS systems, server rooms, and data center environments.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle management records.
User Support and Technical Assistance
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support to end users.
- Resolve escalated IT issues in a timely manner.
- Assist employees with system access, password management, and software-related concerns.
- Conduct user training on IT systems and cybersecurity awareness.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain system configuration records and technical documentation.
- Prepare reports related to system performance, incidents, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and information security requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Qualification RequirementsEssential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Electronics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in System Administration or IT Infrastructure Management.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server Administration and Active Directory.
- Experience in network administration and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate/Expert (MCSA/MCSE)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- VMware Certification
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+
- Experience in healthcare IT environments and Hospital Information Systems.
