Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. QC Officer / Sr. Lab Chemist / Lab In-Charge to lead laboratory and quality control activities at our Surendranagar manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products consistently meet established quality standards and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in chemical testing and laboratory management, and the ability to maintain rigorous quality systems while supporting production and product development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise all laboratory and quality control activities for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Ensure all products comply with internal specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards prior to dispatch.
- Perform and oversee physical, chemical, and performance testing of catalysts, adsorbents, activated alumina, molecular sieves, and related products.
- Review, verify, and approve test results, laboratory reports, and certificates of analysis.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, testing data, calibration records, and quality documentation.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality control procedures and testing methodologies.
- Investigate product quality issues, customer complaints, and process deviations, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Work closely with Production teams to monitor process quality and ensure consistent product performance.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and utilization of laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
- Monitor laboratory inventory, chemicals, consumables, and testing standards.
- Train and supervise laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to testing procedures, quality standards, and laboratory safety practices.
- Support product development, plant trials, and technical evaluation activities as required.
- Maintain compliance with ISO quality systems and other applicable quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, testing reliability, laboratory efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Chemistry with at least 3 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Industrial Laboratory operations.
OR
- B.Sc. in Chemistry with at least 5 years of relevant laboratory and quality control experience.
OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in quality control or process quality management.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry, laboratory practices, and quality systems.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, catalysts, adsorbents, specialty chemicals, ceramics, petrochemicals, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of documentation, calibration, quality records, and statistical quality control.
- Ability to identify quality trends and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, laboratory reporting, and quality documentation systems.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
