Qualification Required: Diploma / ITI / bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fields.
Experience Required: 2–5 years of experience in technical training, vocational skilling, solar PV systems, renewable energy projects, or related sectors.
Skills and Attributes:
- Knowledge of solar PV installation, maintenance, safety protocols, and electrical systems will be preferred.
- Prior experience in skilling or livelihood-focused training programs will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and learner engagement skills.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office, digital learning tools, and reporting systems.
- Willingness to travel locally within project geographies where required.
The Role
PCI India is seeking qualified and motivated Trainers to deliver technical and employability training under Project ASCEND across Maharashtra. The Trainer will be responsible for facilitating classroom and practical sessions, supporting learner development, conducting assessments, and ensuring effective delivery of training programs aligned with industry standards and project objectives.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems and renewable energy applications, along with the ability to engage and mentor youth from diverse backgrounds. Trainers will also support learner readiness for placements and coordinate closely with project teams to ensure quality training outcomes.
The ideal candidate should possess technical expertise, strong facilitation skills, and prior experience in skilling or vocational training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Delivery: Conduct classroom and practical training sessions for courses under Project ASCEND, including courses for roles like Solar PV Installation, Solar PV Maintenance, Solar PV Project Helper, Solar PV Business Development Executive and soft skills programs.
- Curriculum Implementation: Deliver training sessions in alignment with approved curriculum, training schedules, assessment frameworks, and industry standards for renewable energy and solar sector roles.
- Practical Demonstration & Hands-on Learning: Facilitate practical exercises, demonstrations, and field-based learning activities to strengthen learner understanding and technical competencies.
- Learner Engagement & Support: Mentor and support learners throughout the training journey, addressing doubts, encouraging participation, and supporting learners with varying educational and technical backgrounds.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct pre-assessments, post-assessments, practical evaluations, assignments, and internal assessments to track learner progress and competency development.
- Attendance & Batch Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, assessment scores, practical sessions, and batch progress through prescribed formats and MIS systems.
- Placement Readiness Support: Support learners in developing workplace readiness, communication, safety practices, and employability skills required for placement in the renewable energy sector.
- Coordination with Project Teams: Work closely with Project Officers, Placement Managers, and MIS teams to ensure smooth batch operations, reporting, and alignment with project timelines and targets.
- Lab & Equipment Management: Ensure proper usage, maintenance, and safety of training equipment, tools, PPE kits, and lab infrastructure during training sessions.
- Assist and support the reporting manager in any other tasks assigned.

Recruitment Process
- Applications will be shortlisted based on the criteria mentioned in the job description.
- The process may include a presentation of the assignment.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for one or more rounds of panel interviews.
The complete process usually takes 2–3 weeks. Candidates moving to the final round will hear from the People & Culture team. In‑person meetings are preferred, but virtual meetings are conducted where distance is a constraint.
