Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Android Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will own end-to-end feature development, optimizing performance and building scalable, secure mobile experiences. Because this is a 100% remote position, strong independent ownership, clear asynchronous communication, and production-grade coding standards are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android SDKs.
Architecture & Quality: Implement clean architecture principles (such as MVVM) to write efficient, well-tested, and maintainable code.
API Integration: Seamlessly integrate with backend services via RESTful APIs and JSON to handle real-time data and background syncs.
UI/UX Implementation: Collaborate closely with product designers to translate wireframes and design mockups into smooth, responsive user interfaces.
Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize app performance, memory usage, and offline capabilities to ensure a lag-free user experience.
Collaboration: Participate in agile sprint planning, technical discussions, and constructive peer code reviews in a fully virtual setup.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in native Android application development with a strong portfolio of shipped apps on the Google Play Store.
Core Tech Stack: High proficiency in Kotlin (Java is a plus) and deep familiarity with Jetpack Libraries (Compose, Room, LiveData, ViewModel).
Networking & Data: Proven experience working with remote data via REST APIs, JSON, and WebSockets/Real-time data frameworks.
Tools & Ecosystem: Strong experience with Git version control, dependency injection (e.g., Hilt/Dagger), and standard Android profiling tools.
Remote Work Competency: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain clear communication using tools like Slack, Jira, and GitHub.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Experience with real-time audio/video streaming, chat architectures, or WebRTC, Agora
Familiarity with secure data handling, localized storage encryption, and OAuth/Aadhaar-based authentication flows.
Basic understanding of backend frameworks or full-stack workflows (e.g., React.js, Node.js).
