Full job description

Senior Accountant

Location: Chennai
Experience: 3–5 Years
CTC: ₹6.06 LPA
Notice Period: 0–30 Days

Night shift: 7pm to 4 am

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities and support month-end closing, reconciliations, payroll accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, hands-on General Ledger experience, and good proficiency in MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain General Ledger (GL) accounting and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
Handle month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reviews.
Perform regular bank, ledger, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations.
Support payroll accounting, including payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and periodic financial reports.
Review accounting transactions for accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal processes.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation.
Assist with audit requirements and provide relevant schedules and supporting information.
Prepare and analyze accounting data using MS Excel.
Coordinate with internal teams to obtain required financial information and resolve accounting-related queries.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong hands-on experience in General Ledger accounting and month-end closing.
Good knowledge of account reconciliations and payroll accounting.
Experience supporting financial reporting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Good proficiency in MS Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and meet month-end deadlines.
Candidates should be based in Chennai or be willing to relocate.
Candidates with a 0–30 day notice period will be preferred.

Key Skills

Ideal Candidate

A candidate with 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, strong GL and month-end closing exposure, excellent reconciliation skills, and familiarity with payroll accounting and financial reporting would be an ideal fit for this position.

Pay: Up to ₹600,000.00 per year
