The Electrical & Automation Engineer is responsible for electrical design, control system development, PLC programming, panel engineering, machine automation, commissioning, and technical support activities for industrial machine manufacturing projects. The role includes complete responsibility from concept design to final machine commissioning at customer site.
Key Responsibilities : Electrical Design & Engineering
· Electrical design activities for industrial machines and automation systems.
· Prepare electrical schematics, GA drawings, IO lists, cable schedules, and BOM.
· Design control panels including MCC, PCC, PLC, VFD, and remote IO panels.
· Select electrical components such as PLC, HMI, servo systems, sensors, relays, safety devices, and field instruments.
· Ensure electrical design compliance with industrial standards and customer specifications.
Automation & Control Systems
· Develop and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and servo control programs.
· Integrate VFDs, servo drives, safety PLCs, and industrial communication systems.
· Handle machine sequencing, interlocks, alarms, recipe management, and data logging systems.
· Support motion control and synchronized automation applications.
· Maintain program backup and software revision control.
Machine Manufacturing Support
· Coordinate with mechanical, production, and assembly teams during machine manufacturing.
· Support panel wiring, machine wiring, and FAT activities.
· Resolve electrical and automation issues during machine assembly.
· Ensure machine readiness as per project schedule.
Commissioning & Customer Support
· Lead machine installation and commissioning activities at customer site.
· Conduct machine trials, tuning, and production validation.
· Provide customer training for machine operation and maintenance.
· Support troubleshooting during warranty and after-sales service period.
· Coordinate with customers for technical discussions and modification requirements.
Project Management
· Plan and monitor electrical and automation project timelines.
· Coordinate with vendors for procurement of electrical and automation components.
· Ensure project execution within budget and delivery schedule.
· Prepare project documentation and technical reports.
Team Management
· Lead electrical design engineers, PLC programmers, technicians, and commissioning engineers.
· Allocate project responsibilities and monitor team performance.
· Conduct technical training and skill development activities.
· Ensure proper documentation and engineering standards within department.
Required Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of industrial machine electrical systems.
· PLC programming and troubleshooting expertise.
· Experience with HMI, SCADA, Servo, Motion Control, and VFD systems.
· Knowledge of industrial communication protocols:
o Modbus
o Profinet
o Ethernet/IP
o Profibus
o CANopen
· Understanding of machine safety systems and electrical standards.
· Ability to read and develop electrical drawings and control schematics.
· Knowledge of panel manufacturing and machine wiring practices.
Educational Qualification
· Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
Experience Required
· 3–6 years’ experience in automation industry.
Pay: Up to ₹500,000.00 per year
