Position: Sales & Business Development Executive
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₹20,000 Fixed + Performance Incentives | No limit on earning potential
Experience: 3–5 years preferred
Industry: FMCG / Food / Wellness / Retail / B2B Sales
Travel: Field visits across Chennai and nearby areas

About ULAMARA

ULAMARA is an emerging Indian food and wellness brand offering curated products such as traditional malts, herbal teas, soups, health mixes and other Indian-inspired food products.

We are now expanding our sales network across retail, corporate, institutional and direct-to-consumer markets and are looking for a hands-on sales professional to help build this journey.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting customers, creating relationships and building business from the ground up.

The Role

We are looking for a Sales & Business Development Executive who can take ownership of customer acquisition and revenue generation across multiple channels.

You will be responsible for identifying prospects, initiating conversations, conducting meetings, presenting ULAMARA products, negotiating orders, following up and converting opportunities into paid business.

The role involves both field sales and digital/phone-based follow-up.

Key Sales Channels

1. Corporate Gifting

Develop business with:

Corporate companies
HR & Admin teams
Employee engagement teams
Corporate procurement
Event management companies
Corporate gifting agencies

Promote:

Employee wellness boxes
Festival gifting
Client gifts
Customized ULAMARA product boxes
Bulk orders

2. Retail & B2B

Build ULAMARA's retail network through:

Supermarkets
Organic stores
Health & wellness stores
Specialty food stores
Cafés
Gyms & wellness centres
Local retailers

Responsibilities include:

New outlet acquisition
Product introduction
Sample placement
Order generation
Reorders
Relationship management

3. Distributors

Identify and develop:

FMCG distributors
Food distributors
Regional distributors
Specialty/wellness distributors

Build relationships and generate repeat bulk orders.

4. Institutional Sales

Explore bulk opportunities with:

Schools
Colleges
Hospitals
Hostels
Cafeterias
Catering companies
Offices
Wellness institutions

The focus will be on bulk and recurring requirements.

5. WhatsApp / D2C Sales

Convert leads through:

WhatsApp
Phone calls
Social media enquiries
Exhibition/stall leads
Community groups
Existing customer database

Promote:

Product combos
Repeat purchases
New launches
Special offers
Referral opportunities

6. Repeat Customer Development

A customer is not considered fully acquired after the first order.

You will be responsible for:

First Order → Follow-up → Feedback → Reorder → Referral

Maintain regular communication with existing customers and identify opportunities for additional products.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new B2B and D2C leads.
Conduct daily prospecting through calls, WhatsApp, email and field visits.
Visit prospective retailers, companies and institutions.
Present ULAMARA products and product combinations.
Distribute samples and collect feedback.
Prepare quotations and proposals.
Negotiate commercially within approved limits.
Convert leads into orders.
Follow up on pending quotations and opportunities.
Develop retail and distributor relationships.
Generate repeat orders from existing customers.
Maintain accurate CRM/sales records.
Report daily activities and weekly sales pipeline.
Participate in exhibitions, apartment stalls and promotional activities when required.
Collect market feedback regarding pricing, competitors, products and customer preferences.
Coordinate with the internal team for product availability, marketing material and order fulfilment.

What We Expect from You

We are not looking for someone who simply waits for leads.

You should be comfortable with:

Finding → Calling → Meeting → Presenting → Negotiating → Closing → Following Up

Key process : Revenue + quality of revenue + repeat business

will be the primary performance indicators.

Compensation

Fixed Salary: ₹20,000/month

Performance Incentive

Additional incentive based on:

New business generated
Revenue achieved
Collection of payments
Corporate/bulk orders
New retail accounts
Repeat orders

Higher performance = Higher earning potential.

The exact incentive slab can be discussed during the interview based on experience and the sales model.

Who We Are Looking For

Preferred

3–5 years of sales/business development experience
FMCG / food / wellness / retail experience preferred
B2B sales experience is an advantage
Existing retailer/corporate network is a strong advantage
Good communication and negotiation skills
Comfortable with field sales
Comfortable using WhatsApp, Excel/Google Sheets and basic CRM tools
Two-wheeler and valid driving licence preferred
