Roles and Responsibilities
Execute seasonal and short-term sourcing strategies by leveraging category knowledge in Apparel Product Development to meet financial, quality, customer service, aesthetic, compliance, and delivery requirements.
Drive forward working and proactive planning with vendors to ensure timely capacity booking, raw material readiness, and on-time execution aligned with business timelines.
Communicate costing, capacity, and delivery expectations effectively to achieve margin targets and commercial objectives.
Collaborate closely with Design, Buying, and Merchandising teams to provide alternate constructions, materials, and sourcing solutions that optimize cost and improve speed to market.
Identify opportunities to leverage existing libraries of components, fits, materials, and vendor capabilities to improve efficiency and reduce development timelines.
Manage end-to-end product execution from sketch to final delivery, including development tracking, sample management, construction feasibility, and production coordination.
Ensure timely delivery of Proto, Shoot, Catalogue, Fit, and PP samples while driving adherence to GTM (Go-To-Market) milestones and calendar commitments.
Monitor vendor performance through regular follow-ups, forward planning, and risk mitigation to avoid delays and improve execution efficiency.
Develop, manage, and coach a high-performing vendor base to support both current and future business requirements.
Analyse procurement costs, vendor quotations, and sourcing trends to identify opportunities for cost optimization and productivity improvements.
Resolve vendor escalations by coordinating with cross-functional teams including Warehouse, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth operations and improved vendor satisfaction (Vendor NPS).
Maintain complete ownership and accountability for the assigned vendor portfolio, including relationship management, negotiations, performance tracking, and business growth.
Qualifications & Experience
5–8 years of proven experience in Sourcing, Product Development, or Vendor Management within Footwear/Apparel categories.
Strong understanding of sourcing operations, forward working, production planning, and vendor management processes.
Good commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate effectively and sustain strong vendor relationships.
Comfortable working with costing, data analysis, planning, and interpreting business metrics.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced GTM environment.
Degree or formal training in Apparel Product Development is preferred.
Production or manufacturing experience will be an added advantage.
