Full job description

Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records by entering data into accounting software, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely and precise manner.
Accounts Payable Management: Process invoices and payments to vendors, ensuring that all bills are paid on time while maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
Accounts Receivable Management: Assist in the collection of outstanding invoices, tracking payments, and following up with clients to ensure timely payment.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that all financial records match bank statements, identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly.
Assisting with Payroll: Support payroll processing by collecting employee time sheets, verifying hours worked, and ensuring accurate payroll calculations.
Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate reimbursement.
Data Entry: Input financial data into accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial reporting.
Preparation of Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Budget Assistance: Help in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing insights into variances and assisting in financial forecasting.
Tax Preparation Support: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Audit Preparation: Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
Inventory Management: Assist in tracking inventory levels, conducting physical counts, and reconciling discrepancies between physical counts and accounting records.
Financial Analysis: Conduct basic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, providing insights to senior accountants or management.
Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding billing inquiries, payment issues, and general account-related questions.
Document Management: Organize and maintain financial documents, ensuring that all records are easily accessible and stored in compliance with company policies.
Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements, keeping updated on changes in laws that may affect financial reporting.
Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Microsoft Excel) effectively for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
Assisting Senior Accountants: Provide support to senior accountants by preparing necessary documentation, conducting research, and performing other tasks as needed.
Training and Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance accounting skills and stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments, such as finance, operations, and human resources, to ensure smooth financial operations and communication.
Maintaining Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with discretion, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department, suggesting enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
