About the Role

We are looking for a Software Tester with 0–1 year of experience who has a good understanding of Manual Testing and a strong interest in Automation Testing.

The candidate will be responsible for testing web-based applications, identifying and reporting defects, preparing test cases, performing regression testing, and developing basic automation scripts. The role requires someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and willing to learn and work with modern QA tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Perform manual testing of web applications and software products.
Understand business and technical requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
Execute functional, regression, integration, UI, usability, and exploratory testing.
Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate bug-tracking tools.
Perform retesting and regression testing after bug fixes.
Develop and maintain basic automation test scripts.
Execute automated test cases and analyze test results.
Participate in test planning and contribute to improving QA processes.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other teams to understand and resolve issues.
Maintain proper documentation of test cases, test results, and defects.
Ensure software releases meet defined quality standards.

Required Skills

Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Strong knowledge of Manual Testing concepts and methodologies.
Ability to write clear and effective test cases and test scenarios.
Understanding of the Bug Life Cycle and defect reporting.
Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and UI testing.
Basic to good understanding of Automation Testing concepts.
Hands-on knowledge of automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
Basic understanding of API Testing using tools such as Postman is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of SQL/Database Testing is an advantage.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
0–1 year of relevant experience in software testing.
Freshers with relevant academic projects, internships, or practical exposure to Manual and Automation Testing are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualities

Strong interest in Software Quality Assurance and Testing.
Good understanding of both Manual and Automation Testing.
Willingness to learn new testing tools and technologies.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Proactive approach to identifying issues and improving product quality.
Good attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
