JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Position: Senior Accountant
Department: Accounts & Finance
Reporting To: Accounts Manager / Finance Head
Location: [Company Location]
Experience: 5–10 Years
Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA Finance or equivalent

Job Purpose

To manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, statutory compliance, timely reporting, banking activities, and support management in financial analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.
Maintain General Ledger, cash book, bank book, sales and purchase ledgers.
Verify and process purchase invoices, sales invoices, expense bills and journal entries.
Perform bank, customer, vendor and ledger reconciliations.
Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
Ensure timely payment of vendors, statutory dues and other liabilities.
Handle GST-related accounting, reconciliation and return-related data.
Handle TDS calculation, deduction, reconciliation and return-related records.
Ensure proper accounting of payroll, employee advances and reimbursements.
Coordinate with auditors for statutory, tax and internal audits.
Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up with concerned departments.
Prepare cash-flow and fund-position reports for management.
Support budgeting, cost analysis and variance analysis.
Review accounting entries and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
Coordinate with banks regarding payments, receipts, bank statements and other financial matters.
Ensure timely closing of monthly books of accounts.
Identify accounting discrepancies and take corrective action.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee-related information.
Guide and supervise junior accounting staff.
Perform other accounting and finance responsibilities assigned by management.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Good knowledge of GST, TDS and statutory compliance.
Experience in bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny and finalization of accounts.
Good knowledge of Tally / ERP / SAP / accounting software.
Good knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and basic financial analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Experience

Experience in manufacturing / automobile / auto-component industry will be preferred..

Accuracy and timely completion of accounting entries.
Timely monthly closing of accounts.
Accuracy of GST/TDS and statutory records.
Timely bank and ledger reconciliation.
Reduction in outstanding receivables.
Timely vendor payment processing.
Audit compliance and timely closure of audit observations.
Accuracy and timely submission of MIS reports.
Compliance with company accounting procedures.

Pay: Up to ₹55,000.00 per month
