Profile: Infrastructure Engineer

Skills: Puppet and Linux with Kubernates

Experience: 6+ Years

Working Hours: 4 hours per day (Between 2 PM IST to 10 PM IST)

Working Days: Monday To Friday

Location: Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Linux administration, Puppet automation, and Kubernetes platform management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, automating, maintaining, and optimizing scalable infrastructure environments while ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and administer Linux-based production and non-production environments.
Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation using Puppet.
Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters in on-premises or cloud environments.
Automate system provisioning, configuration management, and patching processes.
Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity planning.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and application-related issues.
Implement infrastructure security best practices and compliance standards.
Collaborate with development, DevOps, and cloud teams for application deployments.
Support CI/CD pipelines and containerized application deployments.
Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.
Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities

Required Skills

Linux Administration

Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, etc.)
System performance tuning and troubleshooting
User, security, storage, and network management
Shell scripting (Bash/Python)

Configuration Management

Extensive experience with Puppet
Puppet manifests, modules, Hiera, and environments
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts
Automated configuration deployment and compliance management

Kubernetes

Kubernetes cluster deployment and administration
Pod, Deployment, Service, StatefulSet, DaemonSet management
Helm Charts
Ingress Controllers
RBAC, Network Policies, and Security Management
Cluster monitoring and troubleshooting

Containerization

Docker
Container image management
Registry management

CI/CD & DevOps

Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools
Git version control
Deployment automation

Monitoring & Logging

Prometheus
Grafana
ELK Stack / OpenSearch
Alerting and incident management

Networking

TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers
Reverse Proxies

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
6+ years of Linux Infrastructure Administration experience.
5+ years of Puppet automation experience.
5+ years of Kubernetes administration experience.
