Who You Are:
We are looking for a new marketing director with experience leading either a marketing or ad agency or the marketing department of a large business with multiple in-house brands.
This marketing director needs to demonstrate both a strong track record of success as well as the adaptability to help us navigate a rapidly changing marketing landscape. The right candidate needs to have a strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage and execute a number of projects at the same time.
They should also have a strong focus on metrics, reporting, and efficiency, ensuring company leadership is well-informed of marketing initiatives; that your team is always working on the right things at the right time and at the right pace; and that our marketing efforts are focused on delivering measurable results in terms of views, leads, meetings, and revenue.
You will be leading a team that already includes a talented marketing manager, graphic designer, writer, and SEO specialist. You will report to the Director of Market Intelligence and work closely with our Sales Director.
This position will be WFO, but you will be working closely with the team in the United States through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and through our software. It is important that you have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. We are a fast-paced company that is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking team members who will share our vision for the future and work collaboratively in order to accomplish Base8's goals. Objective:
We are hiring an accomplished Marketing Leader with a technical foundation to plan, implement, and optimize marketing programs across diverse platforms. This role involves shaping strategies that align with business goals, enhancing customer acquisition and retention, supporting sales functions, and strengthening overall brand presence. The candidate will oversee and mentor a high-performing marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily administrative duties to maintain smooth operations and ensure effective coordination within the marketing department.
- Provide support to marketing managers and team members in planning and executing various initiatives and projects.
- Carry out market research and interpret consumer feedback, surveys, and evaluation reports to derive actionable insights.
- Utilize marketing data and analytical tools to collect and interpret key performance metrics.
- Maintain and update databases, reports, and inventories with relevant statistical, financial, and operational data.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and participating in promotional events, both digital and traditional, to ensure successful execution.
- Develop and deliver engaging promotional presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and publish digital content for the company’s website, blog, and social media platforms.
- Draft marketing collaterals such as brochures, press releases, newsletters, and other materials to strengthen brand visibility.
- Liaise directly with clients to nurture long-term partnerships and maintain strong, trust-based relationships.
Requirements
- Experience directing either a marketing or ad agency or the marketing department of a large business with multiple in-house brands
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in marketing, with a proven record of driving business growth and brand success.
- 5–7 years of leadership experience as a Marketing Director, Head of Marketing, or Senior Marketing Manager
Proven ability to manage and execute a number of assignments and projects for multiple different brands at the same time and in a timely manner, accounting for priority
- Strong reporting, tracking, and team management abilities; able to provide regular, concise, informative reports to company leadership on what the marketing team is up to, how individual members are being utilized, the status and ETA of key items, and the success of the marketing team's activities
- Strong sense of urgency and proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of requests coming from multiple stakeholders
- Adaptable, with the ability to pivot based on changes in priorities, new strategies, new brands and business units, etc.
- Resilient - able to get things done with limited time and resources, overcome barriers, and be diligent about getting approvals from very busy company leaders
- Able to manage, train, mentor, and recruit (as needed) a talented and efficient marketing team
- Experience marketing to a US B2B audience. Bonus points for experience in tech, IT services, or cannabis.
- Track record of success in marketing in terms of projects completed on time, goals hit, lead and revenue generation, etc.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams effectively.
