Reporting To: Medical Director
Overview: Heading the medical services department and Clinical Operations to ensure that management of patient or services initial assessment to medical records as per the latest standards, to ensure for excellence and quality outcome. Manage medico-legal and any other assessments in consultation Medical Director and CAO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures for the medical unit.
2. Government policies to be strictly adhered to & to keep the hospital ready at all the time for government and internal audits and inspections.
3. To coordinate (with respective departmental heads) and supervise Hospital infection control, nurses, strictly follow and implement NABH standards/policies.
4. Maintain communication between governing bodies, medical staff and department heads by attending departmental meetings, and coordinating interdepartmental functioning.
5. Monitor the functioning of pathology services, diagnostic services, facilities and staff to ensure the effective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff, equipment and services.
6. Responsible for conducting clinical audits as per NABH/internal committee recommendation.
7. Overseeing and monitoring RCA & CAPA on all the audit findings and reporting the findings to the MD & and the respective head promptly.
8. Attend to Medical staff feedback and grievances. Counseling of nursing staff, para medical staff with the help of respective HOD’s, NS and HR.
9. To ensure all the clinical operations adhere to relevant health laws with regards to medical compliances and to assure the prevention of Medico legal issues.
10. Ensure the radiation safety compliance in all the applicable areas in coordination with the Radiation safety officer
11. To make daily rounds and to see the completeness of clinical records including patient consent forms, assessment forms, Drug charts, Doctors & Nurses progress notes.
12. Ensure that consent forms are taken for all the clinical procedures.
13. To supervise the lab in coordination with Lab Head and to assure that the lab reports are error free, Critical values are being reported to Wards/ICUs and the defined TATs are being strictly followed.
14. Ensure seamless functioning of Operation theatre (OT) including utilization of OT, Scheduling of OT (in coordination with OT manager) & identification of patient in OT ( Right patient , Right site and Right procedure )
15. Meetings with Nursing Staff and other para-medical staff to discuss measures for improvement of patient care and other related matters.
16. Ensure the culture of patient safety in all patient care areas which includes deliverance of safe clinical practices, identification of patient & avoidance of medication errors.
17. Supervise the attendance of consultants/visiting consultants.
18. Attending to medico-legal cases as pertaining to Hospital, in coordination with the Medical Director and CAO.
19. To supervise RMO’s Appointment, postings, compliance to their JDs, trainings, Doctors Handover notes etc.
20. Ensuring the safe practices of blood transfusion in all patient care areas, that blood products given are safe to the right patient, right blood group and the right blood product.
21. To ensure that all the statutory licenses of the hospital are valid.
22. Ensure that the academic/training calendar is in place and academics are happening on regular basis.
23. Ensure that the consultant rosters are in place and make sure that the consultants are being interacted on daily basis.
24. To make daily rounds to patient care areas and make sure that all the required emergency support like Crash carts, Defibrillator are in place.
25. To keep a track of complex/rare cases happening in the hospital and inform to MD & CAO.
26. If any clinical trials are being performed at the hospital, ensure the record compliance with the concerned department.
Pay: ₹96,316.80 - ₹180,000.00 per month
