Position Title: MEP Trainer

Department: Training & Academic Operations
Location: Kollam, Kerala (New Branch)
Reporting To: Training Manager / Academic Head
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified MEP Trainer to join our new branch in Kollam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for training students in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, developing course materials, and preparing students for industry-relevant certifications. Candidates with Gulf experience will be given high preference.

Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Delivery

Deliver classroom and practical training in MEP systems including:
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
Electrical systems and power distribution
Plumbing and drainage systems
Fire fighting and fire alarm systems
ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems
Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications such as ASHRAE, IPC, IEC, and local building codes
Use engaging teaching methods including CAD drawings, site simulations, and real-world project examples

Curriculum Development

Develop and update training modules, presentations, handouts, and assessment tools
Align curriculum with latest industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
Create lesson plans for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level learners

Student Assessment and Support

Conduct written exams, practical assessments, and design projects
Provide individual feedback and guidance to students
Maintain student attendance, progress reports, and certification records

Lab and Equipment Management

Oversee MEP lab equipment and demonstration tools
Ensure practical training aids are functional and safe to use
Recommend new equipment and tools for effective training

Compliance and Quality Assurance

Ensure all training meets REWAQ International Institute quality standards
Stay updated on latest MEP technologies and industry best practices
Assist in internal and external audit preparations

Qualifications and RequirementsCategoryRequirementEducational QualificationDiploma or BTech in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)Total MEP Field ExperienceMinimum 5+ yearsTraining ExperienceMinimum 1+ year in MEP training or teachingPreferred Certifications (added advantage)Certified MEP Designer, LEED, AutoCAD, Revit MEPGulf ExperienceWill get high preferenceRequired Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of MEP systems, components, and installation practices
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and shop drawings
Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit MEP (preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Malayalam proficiency is a plus)
Ability to simplify complex engineering concepts for beginners
Confident public speaking and classroom management skills
Basic computer skills (MS Office, online teaching platforms)
Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
