The Senior Lead Business Analyst for Digital Solutions bridges business needs and technology solutions, combining strong stakeholder partnership with hands-on engagement in digital systems. They work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, analyse processes, and translate insights into clear, actionable outcomes.
What you’ll be doing:
Own and translate business and product requirements into deliverable solutions
o Partner with the Product Owner and SBA manager to understand product roadmaps and priorities.
o Understand business user pain points and operational barriers, and propose pragmatic technical solutions to address them.
o Translate business needs into clear user stories (or bugs), acceptance criteria, and functional specifications. Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and both internal development teams and external SaaS and technology partners.
o Lead the analysis approach for more complex or cross-functional initiatives, ensuring requirements are well understood, appropriately challenged, and aligned to wider business and technology objectives.
o Support other Senior Business Analysts in shaping requirements, improving story quality, and applying consistent analysis standards across the team.
Drive delivery and backlog execution across digital platforms
o Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritisation and refinement
o Assign and track work in Jira, supporting developers through clear requirements.
o Monitor delivery progress, proactively resolve blockers, identify and communicate risks, and propose mitigation strategies to ensure outcomes meet agreed scope and timelines
o Lead stand-ups and refinement sessions, nurture team on good practice, ensure all voices are heard and encourage inclusive participation.
o Act as an escalation point for delivery risks, blockers, scope ambiguity, and priority conflicts, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated appropriately and in a timely way.
o Provide clear, concise delivery updates to senior leaders, translating complex detail into meaningful progress, risks, dependencies, options, and recommendations.
o Support planning and prioritisation across multiple workstreams, helping ensure team capacity is focused on the highest-value outcomes.
Provide hands-on technical analysis, troubleshooting, and operational support
o Act as first-line technical support for business-as-usual issues, ensuring support desk tickets are resolved or appropriately translated into user stories or bugs.
o Investigate and diagnose issues by working directly with files, data outputs, logs, and platform configurations.
o Own issues end-to-end, coordinating fixes and engaging the appropriate internal teams and external partners as required to achieve timely resolution.
o Lead the resolution of complex, high-impact, or recurring operational issues, ensuring root causes are understood, corrective actions are agreed, and preventative improvements are identified.
o Guide and support other Business Analysts in complex investigations, helping them build confidence in technical analysis, stakeholder management, and issue resolution.
Ensure data quality and platform integrity across systems
o Support data quality, accuracy, and consistency across multiple systems, including (but not limited to) SAP, Hybris, and Elastic (ElasticSuite by EmeraldX).
o Use data-led analysis to inform decisions and recommend improvements to data feeds, processing timings, and integrations, benefiting both IT teams and business users.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams including (but not limited to) Master Data, Pricing, Merchandising, SAP Integration, and Customer Operations to resolve, prevent, and reduce recurring data issues.
o Champion data quality and platform integrity across digital solutions, ensuring recurring themes are surfaced to the right forums and translated into practical improvement activity.
o Influence stakeholders across business and technology teams to agree ownership, priorities, and sustainable fixes for systemic data or integration issues.
Enable continuous improvement, testing, and knowledge sharing
o Define and execute test scenarios, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and regression testing, to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements.
o Create, maintain, and share clear documentation in Confluence, ensuring content is accessible to both technical and business stakeholders.
o Identify and recommend improvements to ways of working and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall delivery effectiveness.
o Lead improvements to Business Analysis standards, templates, documentation quality, backlog hygiene, testing practices, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
o Coach, mentor, and support Senior Business Analysts, providing guidance on stakeholder engagement, analysis techniques, communication, delivery discipline, and problem-solving.
o Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, and playback sessions with confidence, including in-person sessions with senior stakeholders and cross-functional groups.
o Promote a culture of continuous learning, constructive challenge, and shared ownership across the BA community and wider delivery teams.
o Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions, acting as a credible representative of Digital Solutions
o Act as a point of escalation for other Senior Business Analysts, helping unblock issues, manage stakeholder challenges, and resolve competing priorities.
o Represent the team in steering groups, planning sessions, and senior stakeholder meetings as required.
What you’ll bring:
- Significant experience in a Senior Business Analyst (or equivalent) role
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams across business and technology functions
- Experience supporting, coaching, mentoring, or developing other Business Analysts or delivery team members
- Proven ability to act as an escalation point for complex requirements, delivery risks, stakeholder challenges, and operational issues
- Experience delivering training, facilitating workshops, and conducting system demonstrations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, including the use of formulas and analysis of large data sets
- Experience in using Jira, Confluence and/or other workload management/ticketing systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively, and clearly communicate options, recommendations, risks, and trade-offs.
- Knowledge of SAP Hybris, SAP AFS, and system integrations is a strong advantage
- Ability to understand complex business needs, uncover root causes, and translate them into clear, actionable user stories, bugs, and functional specifications that work across both in-house development teams and external SaaS partners.
- Confidence working directly with systems, files, and data to investigate issues, diagnose root causes, and support resolution of complex operational and customer-impacting problems.
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Product and Data teams, and external technology vendors to resolve issues, improve data quality, and deliver shared outcomes.
- A proactive approach to improving processes, data flows, and ways of working, supported by clear documentation, effective knowledge sharing, and communication that works for both technical and business audiences.
- Confidence to work independently, analyse information, and make well-reasoned decisions, while recognising when to escalate risks, issues, or dependencies to ensure the right outcomes for the business.
- Ability to operate with autonomy, judgement, and leadership presence, balancing hands-on analysis with team support, stakeholder management, and wider delivery responsibilities.
